Review summary
My last cruise with Carnival. Going back to Royal Caribbean or Princess. Each of the last three cruises the food in the dining room at dinner has gotten worse especially with the brunch.
I was EXTREMELY disappointed that no Christmas music was played anywhere. The dining room has some type of jazz that was horrendous!
Except for Cruise Director that I could do without, ALL of the other employees were absolutely wonderful.

wendycruises - that's usually how I look at it to. Cruising has become our family vacation of choice for my wife and I, two adult children, a son-in-law - and this year adding my mom and dad to the group. We consider ourselves fortunate to be able to shelf our concerns for a week and enjoy the food, service, entertainment and ports of call for about the same price as a land vacation that's pretty much self service.

And Jenny, I'm sorry to disagree with you! We did a 14 day T/A this past April on the Caribbean Princess and had a great time. None of the issues you mention. Food was great, staff were friendly and accommodating and ship was in top shape and always being tended to by staff to keep it that way. I will agree that embarkation at Ft. Lauderdale was disorganized but we lay blame on the port operator, not Princess. We also have cruised Carnival many times and had good cruises with them but will stop short of saying Carnival is superior to Princess. There are so many differences in ships, not just the lines. I can not lump any one cruise line into a "bad" category because in most cases it is the crew that make the cruise, not just the cruise line. In 2013, we sailed the RCCL Jewel of the Seas and had just an OK time. A few months later, we sailed the Brilliance of the Seas and had a great time. Same line, different ships. See where I'm going here ?
