Review summary
We have cruised with Carnival before and I can say hands down that the Carnival Magic is the most horribly run ship of the cruise line. From the horrible food to the staff that is blatantly rude, the whole trip was a disaster. Guest Services would put you on hold and then hang up on you and when you called back they would hang up on you again mid-sentence. Every single event started late all cruise long. On the top deck I had one of the staff close one of the huge deck umbrellas on my head while he stood not 12 inches from me. The food was served cold, the lettuce on the salad bar should have been thrown out and they were clearly using yesterday's food to make the next day's lunch. When we called to complain after the cruise we were basically told thanks for your comments, too bad your cruise was horrible. After years of being huge Carnival fans we will never cruise Carnival again.

Funny that poor service on a cruise ship is somehow seen as some thing that I "didn't put into it". Sorry the fans of the Magic take my experience as a personal offense. We were very surprised, as I mentioned Carnival has always been great in the past. The reason we didn't leave is because we kept thinking "this has to be a one off, this has to get better, I am sure that person is just having a bad day". I was told that the week before our cruise there was extremely bad weather and that the staff on the Magic had been through a lot. Our cruise was also delayed by bad weather which is not in anyone's control, so that may have contributed to the staff being under additional stress. Either way it was a lot of money for a sub-par experience and just as I would do with any other chain that didn't meet my expectations, I will be moving on.
