Review summary

We have been on the Magic before (twice before this latest April 2015 cruise).  This latest cruise took us to the Western Caribbean.  What I have noticed this 3rd time at the Magic, some of the performers or entertainers were not as good as the previous ones.  case in point, the karaoke person.  This current karaoke person was no where near Jay who did the karaoke entertainment on our previous 2 trips.  the band (2 person team) playing on the front of the ship did not play a variety of songs - no one was practically dancing on the dance floor on the 3rd deck forward. The disembarkation at Belize could have been planned better.  we were supposed to be off the ship by 8:15 am.  we did not start to line up for disembarkation til 9:00 am.  not only that, the excursion we joined had to wait 45 minutes for people who were missing. this really messed up our schedule for the day which gave us no time to shop or walk around the dock.  the service desk personnel can use some techniques in being more customer service oriented.  some of them were not too friendly or accommodating.  Another new procedure was the time assigned to us for boarding the ship on day one.  This new procedure has its pros and cons.  It seems that Carnival is reducing certain amenities for cost savings.  That may not go well with cruisers who have been there before.  At least the food was still good - no complaints in that department.  Room stewards and dining room waiters were really for customer satisfaction and to make our cruise a good one - my compliments and thanks to them.

my stateroom steward (Maung) was great. I compliment him and his assistant Holi. They kept the room great to be in after a hard day's excursion.

Ship tip

One needs to get to know the ship - places, location, activities, - as soon as possible to get the most out of the cruise especially on days at sea.

Extreme Zip Line excursion was great.

Going to Belize from the ship needed a tender, a local boat to take passengers to shore. The disembarkation can be planned better to take into consideration time required for the tenders and other stuff.

Cozumel, Mexico
