Great family vacation

Sail Date: December 21, 2014

Traveled As: Family (young children)

Room Type: Balcony

We are not cruising/all inclusive people, but needed an affordable get away. While we will likely go back to quiet beach get aways, this cruise surpassed our expectations. Dinner was far better than expected, and they were wonderful accommodating my gluten free diet. The kids (5, 7) enjoyed golf, water park, and freedom to run around. They were not keen on kids club. My 7 year old loved the ropes course (5 too short), but my 5 year old loved the arcade. What's most notable is the staff. They were truly best in class. Genuinely friendly and caring!!  We went back and forth on spending $1k for a balcony and we're not disappointed having spent the money.   The carnival magic at Christmas was very nice!

Dinner was surprisingly creative and yummy, considering huge number of diners

Carnival does this so very well. Kind, attentive, sweet to our entire family.

Children's Programs
Seemed too structured for my kiddos
Onboard Activities
Fun stuff
Destinations and Excursions
Loved dolphin interaction in Cozumel and zip lining in roatan. Book on own to save.
Cabin / Stateroom
Quiet. Very close to stern pools and dining. Balcony big enough for two to sit comfortably.
Galveston, Texas No comment
Cozumel, Mexico
Tiny beach. Ok food. Great dolphin and manatee experience. No photos and seriously $40 for a single print.
Belize City, Belize We stayed onboard
Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras
Gorgeous, lush forest. Sun ? Zip line / Eco tour was great. Carl was lovely with us and our 5 and 7 year olds.

Tip

The Indian fare at stern was AMAZING for ship food! Get there early for movies and expect long waits for popcorn. If choose your time dining, expect 1/2 hour or more wait for seating. Not bad, just don't wait too late for hungry kiddo's sakes.
