Review summary

Overall nice cruise, but am disappointed that Carnival only caters to the 20-something and 30-something crowds - why?    Why not balance things a little?    Every bit of music, pool bash, games, every day was from that generation,    Can't they throw-in a Beach-Boys tune now and then?

When I was on the first cruise with my wife, we had a Sock-Hop. It was packed and could have gone on for hours, but was shut down after 1 hour. Poor planing there, On the Island Princess we had a group that read the crowd right and we Rocked and Rolled  ALL NIGHT. I even won a Jive contest and a bottle of Champagne On NCL In the Atrium the entertainment was supposed to end at ten....They decided the crowd was too much fun and stayed until 2AM.... Many extra drinks were sold that neght....It's all in the attitude of the cruise line and the ability of the on deck staff and management to make smart and popular decisions. Yes, demographics make a difference, But... C'mon-----Rock and Roll is here to stay......

Thanks for the suggestion, WeCruiseToo! Lots of great music/oldies cruies out there. Heck, can even be able to CRUISE with the Beach Boys! http://maltshopcruise.com/lineup/the-beach-boys

Hi tcm1.  You may also be interested in a themed cruise that is all about oldies.  I see ads for them regularly – sometimes including shows by original stars!

Thanks for your review. Keep in mind that most cruise lines tend to target a specific demographic and tailor the on board activities and entertainment accordingly. Our experts at Bon Voyage magazine have broken down the cruise lines and might be able to help you find which line is right for your next cruise: http://cruiseline.com/bonvoyage/how-to-book/pick-a-line/how-to-compare-the-best-cruises-lines
