Review summary
The service on-board was fantastic. the port Progreso was less than desirable. The beaches and water was less than stellar to say the least. Our main port was eliminated by Carnival without prior notice, and we were sent to Progreso Mexico where we sat for two days. It was not the vacation we waited three years for. My wife and I carried with us all our diving equipment (except for tanks), for this port, which was the main reason we selected this particular cruise. It was cancelled which was understandable; however, had we been told it was being dropped before we left Galveston we would have elected to go on another cruise, and got a refund. No doubt this is why we were not told until after the ship sailed. Now we must save up and find a way to visit Costa Maya in the future. We are very disappointed with Carnival over this treatment. We paid over two grand for this vacation, and Carnival credited us with $50. Shame, Shame Shame. On board service, dining, and overall experience was wonderful. Only getting half what we paid for was shameful.Ship experiences
