Carnival Liberty

4 Night Bahamas (Port Canaveral Roundtrip)

Sail date: May 20, 2019

Ship: Carnival Liberty

Cabin type: Inside

Traveled as: Family (older children)

Review summary

I would highly recommend Carnival Liberty solely on the people there: Cruise Director Cookie, Room Staff Dorcas and Wibawa, and Silver Dining Hall Staff Joselito, I Made, and Naveena. The rest of the cruise is really quite mediocre, but these six people made this trip.

Embarkation

Good!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food was great and unlimited!

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Activities were average. The pools were merely the size of oversized jacuzzis.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The Director Cookie deserves a 20 out of 10. Get this man his own show. Now, on to the other entertainment. The band (phenomenal) and singers that played in the Flowers Lobby were great. That lady playing in the Piano bar by herself should get a lot more attention than she was given. These people did their jobs well. The entertainment in the Venetian Room however were a different story. Get those dancers a vocal coach to help them sing better or get actual singers in addition to the dancers onstage. Because having them sing familiar songs where people knew what it was supposed to sound like, as opposed to how it actually sounded like, was brutal. It made for more cringe-worthy moments than moments that I was actually entertained.

Children's Programs

No children in our party.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
My room’s cleaning staff led by Dorcas and Wibawa were personable and amazing. The room was kept clean all the time and whatever I needed was taken care of with speediness. My wait staff in the Silver Dining Hall consisting of Joselito, I Made, and Naveena were EXCEPTIONAL. Give these people promotions, raises, and days off PLEASE. They *made* this cruise for me and my entire family and are the reasons why I am promoting this particular ship.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The design was okay. There were certain rooms that were super, like the Gym, Dining Halls, and the top deck. However there were parts of the ship that were lacking like the old carpeted hallways of the lower decks, the lack of an outdoor walkway that could go all the way around, and the generally low ceilings. It felt like half of the ship was modern and spacious, and half was stuck in a Motel 6.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The size of the cabin was extremely small, but what made it comfortable was the room attendant, Wibawa. He had memorized all our names by Day 1 and attended to every need. I would stay in another small room if he was the one taking care of it.

Ship tip

Go to every event that Cookie is a part of.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

4 out of 5
This is where the cruise started and ended. Nothing to do but dock.

Nassau, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Excellent port! Lots to do and see.

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

4 out of 5
Although this port is not as lively as Nassau, it still allowed us to do what we wanted to do, which were excursions. So still, 4/5.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Cookie and the other staff answering our questions made this process much better the the onboarding.
