Review summary

This cruise was to celebrate our 35th anniversary. We loved it so much that we're already trying to decide when and where to book another cruise. We know it will be with Carnival! We just can't say enough good things about the Liberty and her crew & staff. There's absolutely nothing negative we could say about the crew. (But we could have done without a few drunken passengers)

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We don't care for being seated with strangers so after the first night we didn't return to the main dining room. The restaurants and buffets had excellent food and plenty of it. If I were to change anything I would like the buffets to open earlier for breakfast. The 24/hr coffee and ice cream... perfect!

Guy's Burger Joint

We loved the toppings bar! We piled our burgers high for some of the messiest, most delicious burgers we've ever had. And the seasoning on the fries was so good we didn't need salt, ketchup or anything else on them. They served it up fast and their staff was very friendly.

Grand Buffet

Amazing variety of food. Everything was fresh and cooked perfectly and I didn't see them run out of anything. The buffet bar and dining areas were always kept clean and there was plenty of seating.

Flowers Lobby

Absolutely beautiful. We had a blast watching Donkey & Tevin at the Motown Showdown and 80's Trivia shows. But he draws such a crowd that they should consider putting his shows in the theater. I don't know where they could squeeze them in but a few more chairs would be good.

Service and Staff

Servers at the buffets were quick and very friendly. The tables were always being cleared. I never saw any tables cluttered with dirty dishes. Not once did any of the ships personnel pass us without a smile or hello or ask if there was anything we needed. Housekeeping kept our cabin spotless. Whenever we needed anything, like extra wash cloths, we left a note asking for it and when we returned it was waiting for us. Our steward, Putra, was wonderful! He made sure we wanted for nothing and he's so friendly and always smiling.

Ship Quality

The Liberty is beautiful. The "You are here" maps around the ship made it easy to navigate. In the common areas the tables, floors, everything was always clean. We didn't see anything that was dirty or in need of repair. The Liberty crew knows what they're doing and they do it well!

Ship tip

There was only 1 electrical outlet in our cabin so plan accordingly. If you like a quiet start to your morning, get up early for breakfast (it starts at 7:30). Pay attention to the safety announcements on the TV as soon as you enter your cabin because there is information you will need to know before the ship sets sail. And ENJOY because the Liberty and her crew are AMAZING!

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

We embarked here. The staff was very organized.

Nassau, Bahamas

A lovely city but just a bit on the commercial side close to the dock. We took a walking tour by ourselves with a map I purchased before the trip. The tour was a long walk and by the end of it we were exhausted but it was worth it. We loved the pirate museum, chocolate and cigar shops, colorful old buildings, Greek Orthodox Church and especially the people.

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

This was our favorite port. The atmosphere was so laid back and relaxing. We took a taxi too and from Port Lucaya and the cab drivers (Donald and Adrian) each way were friendly and both had a great sense of humor. The market place was very nice. It was clean, had plenty of restrooms, shops and places to eat. Our favorite part was sitting in the market square and listening to Mango sing, play and tell silly jokes.

Glad you enjoyed! We really liked the Liberty also. We get Your Time Dining (YTD) and just ask for a table for 2 when we are traveling alone. We prefer the dining room to buffet for breakfast and dinner. We also request table for 2 at breakfast.
