We haven't cruised in 10 years, but very little has changed except that people mostly don't get as dressed up for dinner as much as they used to. Not a bad thing, I prefer casual. The serenity area was very nice for us since so many people stake out the loungers that sit empty most of the day in the family area. The majority of the other passengers we talked to were very positive about their experiences, we only had one encounter with some cranky older persons that we chose to ignore. Looking forward to our next cruise, hopefully it will be sooner that 10 years from now.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We used Carnival's Faster The The Fun option, which got us onboard just after the platinum and diamond passengers. Our cabin was ready when we boarded so we were able to roll our own luggage on, change into bathing suits and go up on deck and have lunch at Guys.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Main dining room seemed a little slow, food was great but we felt we burned up a lot of time waiting.
The buffets were good, seemed to have some of the same food choices as the MDR. The bbq and Guys Burgers really stood out as great choices for a quick meal.
Diamonds Steakhouse was very good, we really felt pampered there. Food was excellent.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
We just played a couple of the trivia games, that were pretty fun.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The Flicks Show was pretty boring to my wife and myself. We ended up leaving during the show. Just not our kind of entertainment. The comedian we did see was hilarious. I wish we would have had time to take in more comedy shows.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Every staff member was very cheerful and helpful. These people worked their butts off to make us feel special.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
It took a while to learn how to get around but we found taking the stairs when we could was much quicker than waiting on elevators especially at dinner time. Common areas were very clean.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The cabins was a little tight, which is normal, you get used to it. I was very clean and comfortable. Troy, our Steward was excellent. He kept our ice bucket and cooler full of ice and the cabin was spotless and always stocked. I brought along a Euro style adapter that plugged in where the bedside lamp is and was able to use that plug for charging my phone and watch. Just make sure whatever you plug in will run on 220Vac.
Ship tip
Study the layout before you go, there are only certain decks that will go from one end to the other. Be familiar with the names of the lounges and dining rooms and where they are.
Very busy area. We didn't do any excursions so we took a walk to the public beach. The place was a little sketchy with lots of very polite people trying to make a living offering taxi rides, beach chairs and souvenirs. We went around the outside of the straw market where the people were a little more pushy, offering to sell ray bans and rolex watches. Reminded me of a flea market at home. Unless taking an excursion we probably won't bother going ashore in Nassau again if we return.
NO excursions. But we probably should have taken a bus across to Port Lucaya Marketplace where we heard it was much nicer. Freeport is a very industrial looking port with a bunch of the same t-shirt and souvenir shops. A few of the venders there we a little rude pushy. This port in our opinion was a waste of time.
How you dress for elegant night is up to you. Some went very formal and some were very casual. We dressed up for our anniversary dinner at the steakhouse then had a few pictures taken. Once we were done with pictures, we changed and headed to the comedy club.
Yep hooked again as we are only 86 days until we leave Australia ð¦ðº for our next adventure 18 cruises and counting !!!! Please take note and don't be selfish with the lounges if u are not going to use then take your crap with u and let someone else enjoy !!!!!!!
