Lots of fun... lots of island time!

This is my 6th Carnival cruise.  I loved the itinerary with so much island time!  Each island has a different personality.  The down side is that you don't get many sleeping in days but you can doze on the beach!   .  Our favorite experience was visiting the Boatyard  (Catalina Beach) in Barbados.  The most perfect beach with plenty to do... wifi... restaurant....snorkeling with turtles....water sports.... bluest water and pink/white sand!  Free transportation and close to the ship!  The staff on the ship were very friendly and personable as always!  They were always cleaning and smiling... great service!  The only negatives we have to report is that our room steward took our mini coffee maker that we brought...a fire hazard they say.  Um, aren't curling irons?  Whatever.... my hubby is picky about coffee but we just moved on and learned to like their coffee.  Also, the air conditioning in the rooms aren't cool enough at night.   Other than that, this was a magical week.... filled with fun and great memories.  We were truly sad to say goodbye to this ship and all the lovely people.

Ship Quality
Nice and clean....great shape... pretty basic as far as pools and water slide go.... not a mega ship... just basic but fine
Food and Dining
abundant, great food
Service and Staff
Eric our waiter was kind and non judgemental when we ordered countless extras... Also Rodney our room steward was beyond friendly! Great job!
Entertainment
Comedians were hit or miss. Some good... some not.
Onboard Activities
Every Carnival cruise has the same jokes and punchlines for the game shows and trivia. i would love new material!
Destinations and Excursions
St Kitts was not our favorite... but loved the others VERY much
Cabin / Stateroom
Wish the air was cooler at night.
San Juan, Puerto Rico
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas
We wanted to go to gorgeous Magens Bay... but taxi driver lied and told us it was closed. I guess he wanted to drive us further away to a different beach... left us a little disappointed.
Bridgetown, Barbados
Favorite! Ask taxi to take you to the Boat Yard. Free Wifi, restaurant, lots of water sports, snorkling with turtles... gorgeous water and sand.... free transportation. MUST SEE
Castries, St. Lucia
Loved the snorkeling...but boat ride was long and beach was pathetic. Pretty views
Basseterre, St. Kitts
We were warned to be street smart here. Great shopping at the port. Cockleshell Beach... just ok... but had a nice massage on the beach
Philipsburg, St. Maarten
Rode the horses.... highly recommend! Great time... gorgeous views...Beautiful island and we want to come back!

Tip

Don't be afraid to get a taxi instead of planning an excursion. The taxis were always timely and abundant. Just make sure you get back to the ship in plenty of time! The Boatyard (Catalina Beach) in Barbados is a must see... best beach ever! St Maarten.. gorgeous...riding horses was awesome!
