Review summary

My family and I had a terrible cruise aboard the Liberty ship. I did enjoy the different ports of call, but I really didn't like the time spent on the antique ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Buffet closed too early; also from 2:30-6:00, if you suggested early dining, guests were feed Guy's burgers , sandwiches, and hot dogs.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Too many guests playing cards on deck shows a sign of BOREDOM!

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Comedians were slightly funny; but overall, the company needs more entertainment.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
Only thing enjoyable about sailing on the ship.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Excursion Representative misinformed us about honoring excursion departure times.

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
The ship needs some serious renovations.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Renaldo was great at fulfilling our needs on-board.

Ship tip

We really found the excursions interesting, informative, and relaxing.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

3 out of 5
We enjoyed the island tour.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

3 out of 5
It wasn't much to do, but we liked the time at the beach.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

5 out of 5
We loved the island tour purchased on the island, because we were misinformed about the departure time of our on-board purchased tour.

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

5 out of 5
Locales were very friendly and informative; we had the best tour ever with "Honest Ernest."

San Juan, Puerto Rico

3 out of 5
We debarked from the ship and got a taxi directly to the airport, so we didn't get to enjoy the island.

The Liberty is only 10 years old and was given the 2.0 upgrades in 2011.  Not and "Antique" ship.  Remember when you book a Carnival cruise you are booking on Carnival.  It is what it is,  if you go looking to find issues you will,  if you go with the idea of just having fun,  you will have fun.

It is to bad you did not get any time to do a post cruise few days in San Juan.  I did a week there before a cruise and I like San Juan enough to go back.

Please give examples as to what was terrible about the trip and to what you are comparing it to?

It's funny everybody else doing reviews had no problem with the Pride. It was just in dry dock a few months ago. Get used to the entertainment all cruise lines seem to be cutting back. You get out of the cruise what you want to.

Can you elaborate on why the cruise was so "Terrible"? Cabin, food, entertainment??
