Carnival Legend

7 Night Bahamas (Baltimore Roundtrip)

Sail date: December 10, 2023

Ship: Carnival Legend

Traveled as: Family (young children)

Reviewed: 5 months ago

Review summary

An older, smaller ship with classic decor. We were on a family cruise, 3 cabins. The bad weather at the end of the cruise did cause us to miss the port of Freeport, so an extra sea day.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Well organized and efficient.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The main dining room, Truffles was great. The only exceptions would be the waffle ( which tasted and felt like it was made back in Baltimore and just pulled off the pile and served) and the chicken roulade (which was dry and rubbery). Bonsai was very good. The lido buffet wasn't a buffet, it was a food court. Chopsticks was good but they need to assign people who can read the food labels. Switching Korean BBQ chicken and the shrimp and calamari in Seafood sauce was amusing but obvious. Switching the hot and spicy garlic sauce with the sweet and sour sauce wasn't obvious but could have caught someone by surprise. The buffet was a single counter with a couple of entrees and a couple of sides.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Build -a-Bear was not a store on board. It was a one day event in one of the theaters.

Children's Programs

4 out of 5
My grand daughter seemed to enjoy it.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Best part of the cruise. Bernard and Elias in Truffles were excellent and attentive.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Classic lines and decor.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The only problem with the cabin was the bed. The two halves didn't fit together properly. One mattress was significantly higher than the other.

Ship tip

Be aware that many of the passengers believe that perfume should be applied with a fire hose. There are many young passengers who seemed to believe that they were allowed to block aisles and passageways while they are hanging out.

Disembarkation

Very efficient except for my sister in law. Her card triggered an alarm and required her to go to guest services. We got her (and her wheelchair) to guest services only to be told there was no reason for the alarm. So back to the gangway where the alarm went off again and we were told to go back to guest services. This time we had a guest service representative with us . We got a ship's officer to clear us and we got ashore.
