Review summary

Cruise was a great time as were the ports we stopped in. My only complaint is that when you get off on Half Moon Cay, we couldn’t use our drink package and had to pay out of pocket or from our cruise account. It makes 0 sense that you can use your card on file to pay, but not your drink package. It’s pure greed on carnival’s part. Staff were absolutely amazing, kind and attentive. Our steward, Oswald always greeted us by name and did an incredible job. Our dining room staff, Jose, Jhon and Mark were always smiling and never let our drinks run out. Also, Moyo from the buffet area was exceptionally kind and greeted my husband and I the entire trip. We loved them all!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our steward, Oswald was attentive and was so friendly. He did an excellent job of taking care of us. Jose, Jhon and Mark were our waiters in the main dining room. They were all fantastic, exceptionally friendly and the service was 15/10.

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

Cabin was nice. Hated that the king size bed was two twin mattresses pushed together because it was uncomfortable

Ports of call

Baltimore, Maryland

5 out of 5

Grand Turk Island

5 out of 5
Nice port, no shade though. Locals asked if we wanted to buy “party favors” multiple times.

Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island)

4 out of 5
Beautiful and well maintained. Annoyed that carnival owns the island but you can’t utilize your drink package there even though it’s literally staffed by the ship crew at the bar.

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

3 out of 5
If you don’t do an excursion or create your own excursion there is nothing to do except shop or drink at Senor Frogs

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Quick but a little confusing.

We load up our yeti cups with rum punch before we get on the tender boats... and we're golden.

carnival Corp owns half moon, but it's actually Holland America's private island that carnival also uses, this is why the package doesn't work. royal... with what they charge for the drink package (almost doubles carnival's price) should be included

I agree with the Carnival greed. They force you to visit their island and make you pay the drink prices they set. Royal doesn't do that - their island is an extension of the ship.
