Carnival was not as polished as we have experienced on Celebrity, Roal Caribbean and NCL. Aside from the excellent crew member interactions we were a bit disappointed.
Embarkation

Great
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Restaurant food was OK. Lido buffet, burgers and pizza were excellent.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Center pool was closed one day, Reds bar tenders were slow, Serenity pool was a fantastic experience!
Entertainment
2 out of 5
The musicals were fun and entertaining. The comic, Spike Davis was horrific! We are NOT easily offended but he was completely racist against white people. 7 of his first 10 jokes bashed White's. We had to leave. Fabi accused us of being easily offended but that is NOT the case. It was very racist.
Children's Programs
We did not travel with children.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Our room steward, Desra, (cabin 7208), was amazing! She's fun, happy and efficient. She was a joy to be around. We loved how ALL of the staff remembered our names all week. Ian was a lot of fun.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Everything was very clean. The ship seemed older than it is.
Cabin / Stateroom

Desra kept our room spotless. The animal towels were a hit. She brought us anything we needed immediately and greeted us by name with glee everytime we saw her. The safe was broken twice and finally had to be replaced. It took up way too much of our fun time. The refrigerator hardly kept anything cold at all. There fact that there was only ONE 110 volt standard plug for our cell phones, tablets, etc. was incredibly frustrating. We had multiple devices that we could not charge in a timly manner. This was very dissapointing. the fact that we could not navigate the information without a cell phone was extremely inconveinent! We couldn't use both cell phones because we could only charge one at a time. We had to get up in the middle of the night to switch out charging devices.
Ship tip
There wasno option for Coke products or Budweiser. The ship seems older than expected. There is only one charger port in the cabin.
Baltimore is very dangerous but that is not Carnival's fult. It was our home port and couldn't be avoided. I would warn future cruisers out of Baltimore to be wary of there surroundings.
Being somewhat handicapped we did not choose to venture out on the tenders. We regret this. The water looked beautiful. However, it was lovely to enjoy the ship without too much of crowd.
We did not do an excursion but the local island visit was nice. The beach was pretty. The island was way more commercialized thann we could have imagined. The people were nice.
It was great! It was way more efficient than we have experienced before. I believe the fact that we had a wheelchair with a port driver expedited the process.
Sorry the entertainers weren’t so nice. You go on vacation to relax and have fun. Last we sailed on Carnival, there weren’t any cell phones.😳 I bought a plug through Amazon for multiple charging devices.
I sailed on this same cruise. I don’t find Baltimore to be dangerous unless you venture out into the more dangerous areas, which all cities have. It’s a great city with a lot to do and enjoy especially around the inner harbor. As for Spike, he is fantastic! This was my second time seeing him on carnival and was excited to see he was on our ship. I’m white and didn’t find him to be racist either times I saw him. They made jokes about all races had you stayed long enough to enjoy the show. As Fabi said, maybe this just isn’t the show for you. Glad you enjoyed otherwise.
Appreciate your feedback. Pepsi products have been part of Carnival for several years. A little research would have helped you navigate some of your issues. You could also ask your room steward for an extension cord for more plug options. Sorry you were disappointed.
