Review summary

I went with a large group for this sailing. It had been over 20-years in between my last Carnival sailing, and it was just as bad as my memory had served. For the cost, I am officially done with Carnival; been there & done that (twice)! I promise that I went in with an open mind.

Embarkation

1 out of 5
Unable to change embarkation time online or over the phone. Put in wrong line based on pre-questioning, so it was longer than it should have been.

Entertainment

The one star only goes to the lively Cruise Director Cam. Cam was awesome! The singers and dancers were very disappointing in comparison to RCCL & MSC.

Children's Programs

4 out of 5
Great things in the kid's club but the open and close times (and long lines) were very disappointing.

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
The bartenders, aside from those poolside, expressed annoyance at us. We were a large group and other felt the same. A 70-year old was told she had to go get her own coffee if she wanted an Irish coffee (or whatever coffee drink comes with alcohol) because they didnt have any. đŸ˜” It's a bar! MSC Cruises has a nice coffee bar at its bars. I was shocked. Such an expensive drink package and did not get our money's worth.

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
Old. Was renovated in 2017 and then with no sailings during active Covid-19 period, it looked drab. Fingerprints everywhere on the handrails and elevators. It was not something I am use to sailing with RCCL or MSC.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Old, but our attendant did his best.

Ship tip

Avoid sailing with Carnival if possible. Each cruise line fits certain people best, I am convinced.

I am always happy with Carnival. I hope the rest of your group had fun. Sometimes an entire group ends up miserable because one or two “experienced” cruisers keep comparing their current ship to other ships they have been on. The whole trip everyone hears how wonderful everything is on other ships and how terrible everything is on this ship. Things will never be perfect, but with the right attitude, everyone can have a fun, relaxing week. I beg “experienced” cruisers to stop sharing their displeasure during a cruise, ruining the week for everyone else. I am not saying you did that, and after a cruise, this is the right venue to express your opinion. Sorry you weren’t happy. Good luck on the other lines.

Ya sound a little... stuffy? Glad you will be on the other lines. Btw carnival is the cheapest drink package

Too bad you had problems. We were on her to Bermuda in May and everything was great. Embarkation smooth, had lunch in front of us thirty minutes after walking in the terminal.
