Review summary

For my first cruise, it was wonderful. I learned a few tips and tricks and look forward to my next one. The food was not what I expected, but I surely did not starve to death. I'd love to stay in the ports a bit longer, but realized this may not be possible.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was well organized, and as fast as it could be for getting that many people in one place.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
This was my first cruise. I had heard for years about all the delicious foods, buffets, and specialty restaurants. Unfortunately, I was not really impressed. The buffets were limited in selection and times available. The main dining had very small portions and the food was a bit bland. I'm not a foodie, so don't get me wrong, I survived. I just expected it to be a little grander. I paid for the "bubbles" package and didn't drink soda or juice because I found it wasn't really readily available. I tried to get a refund on day 3 after realizing it wasn't really for me, but was denied.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
I loved the shows and comedians. The pools were closed quite a bit because of weather, but I was OK with that anyway.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The performers were awesome! Made the trip. Shout out to CAM our cruise director. To have fun you gotta be fun!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our waiters were top notch and always personable. Our room was cleaned promptly and never interfered with our plans.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Overall, it was very well laid out. The common areas were a pleasure. After some rough weather, Lido Mid smelled like vomit for a few days, but it passed.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Loved our room, the bed was very comfortable, sheets so soft, and shower had great pressure and great hot water!

Ship tip

Get a room near the elevators. Don't buy the "Bubbles" package unless you are really a soda drinker all day.

Ports of call

Nassau, Bahamas

3 out of 5
We went to the Blue Lagoon Island. The trip was shorter than advertised. The island and lagoon were beautiful. We did the Segway excursion. We loved it until the lady in front of me wrecked on her Segway which caused me to lose some control of mine. The staff didn't seem too bothered. It would have been nice if they had checked on my injuries a bit more. I'm still bruised and swollen a week out.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

The port was definitely a little questionable at first. However, we did the ATV excursion and it was AMAZING! Dwaine our guide was extremely knowledgeable during the ride in the van. Once on the ATV's it was just too much fun. LOVED IT!

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
This was so much faster than we ever could have expected. So great!

On the other hand, many people don't like being near elevators due to high traffic and noise.
