Overall, great first cruise. Certainly some things that could be better but it was truly one of the most fulfilling vacations I have taken. Will certainly cruise again (with a few modifications!)

Food and Dining

Only ate in the buffet and Guy’s burgers due to picky eating and not wanting to dress up on vacation. However, the food had NO flavor. Most of the Chinese food was good. Often ate pizza or burgers because they were consistent. However, only on carnival is a margherita pizza the same as a cheese pizza…which is inaccurate. Also, the chefs did not seem amused when asking for the full personal pizza. Also, do NOT get the bubbles package. So not worth it. You can only get the pop at a bar, which is frustrating when the kiddos want to get a drink themselves. It is also not convenient to wait at a bar for 20-30 min for a pop before eating. They need to have automatic fountain machines where you scan your card and it activates. We certainly will not get it again.
Onboard Activities

Lots of fun activities for kiddos to enjoy. We had a lot of fun at trivia, too. Did not use the pools but the little ones enjoyed them.
Entertainment

Never got to attend a comedy show as even 30 min before the start, they were “full.”

Both girls (ages 6 and 9) LOVED the kid’s clubs! So fun for them to hang out with people their age and do activities!

Our room was so hot and stuffy. Our friends who traveled with us were right next door. Their room was COLD so I knew it was possible. When we asked our room steward what to do, he told us the room was cold. It wasn’t. We truthfully didn’t see him, which I guess is okay but not what we expected as our friends (who had a different steward) were always interacting with theirs.
Ship Quality

Nice and clean on the ship. Things were all in good locations.
Cabin / Stateroom

Overall great. We loved the sunsets every night on the balcony. Enough storage in the room to not feel crammed (we had 2 adults and 2 children). Our only complaint with the room was the temperature. We could not get it cool and it was very stuffy. We did bring it to the attention of staff but our steward said the room was cold and offered no other suggestions.
Disembarkation

Super easy and efficient! One benefit of the 8th floor is you disembark first! Carry your bags (as opposed to having Carnival transport for you) and you’ll be back to your vehicle in no time!
I’m not sure why they didn’t use VeriFLY for you. I was just on the ship a few weeks ago and they used mine.
As for never seeing your cabin steward, the ships are way under staffed. They need to hire all their crew back. The cutbacks are very noticeable.
