Over all it was a wonderful cruise. Our first one back since the shut down. I thought I would mind having to wear a mask but I didn’t at all. Can’t wait to go again.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
The embarkation process was fast and Efficient. From the time we parked and got out of car it took 20mins til we were in our room. It was wonderful.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The food in the main dining room was good, I always enjoy the sea day brunch. The pizza and guys burgers did not disappoint. Was not a huge fan of the hot buffet items but did enjoy the salad bar area. The drinks were delicious, kinda wish we had done the drink package.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
I enjoyed the relaxation on the serenity deck. Spent most of my daytime hours there. Did do a few trivia’s and they were fun. The evening shows in the theater I loved. The cast did an amazing job. The last show of the week you could tell was their favorite cause they knocked it outta the park. Was very disappointed in the piano bar. Normally we spend most of the night there. We went one night and refused to back again. The singers in the atrium actually did a much better job. All other deck parties I attended in the past on other carnival ships they gave glow sticks out at the glow party and necklaces at the mega deck party. This was not done on this ship this time the weather was chilly so did not use the pool except for one day to put my feet in. The hot tubs were over run by kids. I did get a. Massage on the last sea day because they ran a nice special. The massage was wonderful and relaxing. And the massage therapist was not pushy trying to get me to purchase products which I appreciated.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The play list performers did an amazing job with all the shows. Again you could tell the last show of the cruise was their favorite. The comedians were good. Didn’t make it to as may of those shows as we would have liked.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The staff all around was amazing!!!! They really went out of their way to make you happy and make your trip wonderful. Bartenders were always there to get you a drink 😊 our room steward did an amazing job every evening cleaning our room.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
It’s an older ship so of course it shows some wear and tear. Those things need to be taken into consideration. But over all the ship was clean and well maintained.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
We had a balcony cabin and we loved it. It was clean and bright. Only had one US outlet which we knew ahead of time so we had a strip with us for extra plugs. There are no USB ports in the rooms. The balcony had some rust but again it is an older ship and some of that is to be expected. We loved using the balcony and relaxing, watching the water and coming and going from port, especially watching the pier runners lol.
Ship tip
Try new foods in the dining area you may be surprised what you find you actually like.
Always love this stop, the beach is white and the water is clear blue. We rent a clam shell and relax. I just wish the drink package carried over for use on the island. We had not purchased the drink package this time like we had in the past, we knew we were still going to have to purchase drinks separately there.
The people were extremely pushy, you would decline one taxi driver take two steps and get stopped by another. People trying to put brackets on your wrist while you were walking past. We didn’t stay long maybe about an hour til we went back to the ship. Maybe it is better if you purchase a shore excursion. I did get my hair braided there, be sure to ask how much it is gonna cost before they start. Someone after me did not and it was over 100.00.
We enjoyed this stop. We didn’t go any further then the port. But the shops and food there was wonderful. The people very nice and friendly and not pushy. We were not going to go into port but very glad we decided to.
The disembarkation process was a easy as the embarkation process. We sailed at about 60%capacity so this probably helped with not having long lines. But from the time our number got called til we got to our car was under 30mins
Ignore my post above about wearing masks…
I just noticed that your cruise was back in January.
I saw the posting date and thought that’s when you cruised. Sorry for the confusion.
Thank you for your review! I’m hopping on this ship this Sunday, March 20th.
My only question or confusion with this review is as of March 1 masks are not mandatory. Can you shed a little light on what you meant stating that you thought you would mind having to wear a mask? Where were they requiring it?
Thanks! I’m looking forward to your reply!
We are hopping on the Legend on April 3rd, been a looong time since cruising…. And masks are now optional, so I’m liking that part. We are in an ocean view on Deck 1, usually book a Verandah, but sometimes cheap is good! Your review is great, thanks so very much. Hope you get to cruise again soon.
