It was OK. The next time i would be more inclined to check out the food and onboard entertainment before cruising.
Embarkation
1 out of 5
It was pretty awful! They made us wait out in the cold for several hours before boarding the ship!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The food for the most part was ok. The night i ordered steak, it was pretty fatty, almost inedible. When Christmas came and they served turkey, my thought was Could you spare it? there was a dot of cranberry sauce and very little else. Coffee cost an extra 3.25 with dinner so we went up to the Lido deck after dinner for another dessert and coffee. The Legends Cafe (coffee Bar ) had wonderful pastries and we stayed away from the Hamburger Restaurant due to my diet. Other than that the food was fine.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
I don't do Bingo, or football, or karoke, I did do a trivia game, read a lot and slept.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The stage shows were fine if a bit short. We went to every stage show except Studio 54. The comedian, Jeff Capri was funny the first time, but the 2nd and third time, the jokes were the same so we stopped going.
Children's Programs
we dont have children but i understand there were over 500 children onboard. We never had a problem with them.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
We had no problems with the service and/or staff. They were attentive and talented although i could have done without the nightly dancing in the dining room
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
I wouldn't say they were terrible but the ship was leaking much of the time and we had no heat when we fist got on board. it took them two days to fix.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Overall, it was fine, once they fixed the heat.
Ship tip
Be sure to bring something to read or do if you're not into bingo, football, AA, NA, trivia, Karaoke, or that sort of thing
The port was large and much of what we wanted to see was closed due to COVID. We took a walking tour of downtown and the tour guide was careful to take us to places we had not already been to.
We did two excursions actually. We fed and petted the stingrays. The guide was wonderful, truly. She was patient and took pains to make sure that this 70 year old lady enjoyed it. We also took a tram around the island.
This was a bit of a disappointment. The town has nothing to offer except the Garden of the Groves. The town of Freeport is a highly industrialized place without much of a history. Our guide did run us through downtown Freeport but it was nothing to write home about. Other than that we didn't do anything else in Freeport
Curious about embarkation. Did you get there earlier than your assigned time? In December I went on a cruise and my assigned time was 12 noon. The people behind me had an assigned time of 1:30, and it was only 11:50 am. I was pulled to the front of the line by the staff to board the ship, and the ones behind me were told to stay in line and wait until 1:30.
Also, I bring art supplies with me for sea days as I enjoy painting and drawing, so I use the down time enjoying that instead of going to bingo. Or a good book is nice too!
