Review summary

We picked this cruise based on the ports as well as where we could get decent airfare only a month out. The Legend being a smaller ship didn't have a lot of the flashy outdoor sports (rock climbing wall, bigger slides, etc.) as we saw the other ships at ports did but we were fine with that. We have previously been on a 2 Disney cruises & 1 Princess cruise and we enjoyed all equally the same.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Our daughter has a peanut & tree nut allergy and was able to eat safely in the main dining room by pre-ordering her breakfast & dinner the day before but we had several hiccups for lunch. No one that was working the buffets or walkup restaurants were able to tell us anything about whether the food was free of PN/TN or cross contamination issues. Finally found Chef Sakur who told us which walkup restaurants were safe and gave us his personal number to call if we wanted anything special from the buffets. We did use him a couple of times to make salads for lunch as the bar had walnuts on it & we were concerned about cross contamination.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Did not use the pools or fitness center.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We really loved the Playlist shows each night, Frankie our Cruise Director was awesome, as well as his fun team & enjoyed the music trivia nights.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Noel, Jose & Shyann were excellent servers in the main dining room for dinner & made sure our daughter's special orders were correct due to her food allergy. I never once saw our room steward but our room was straightened each day nicely.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Design was a little dated & some areas were really showing wear. However, everything was very clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

Size was fine for a family of 4. We really enjoyed having the balcony.

Ports of call

Tampa, Florida

No formal excursion but had time to kill before our late flight so we rented a car for the day & visited the Hyde Park area which was very nice.

George Town, Grand Cayman

We went to the Turtle Farm. It was good but probably wouldn't go back.

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

We just stayed at the beach there. Besides the 100's of bug bites it was a nice day.

Belize City, Belize

We did the Altun Ha & Jeep tour which was fantastic! Roberto was so nice & spent the entire day with us... explored the ruins, the jeep ride thru the rainforest, the cave exploring and the homemade lunch complete with fresh coconut water was awesome!

Cozumel, Mexico

We visited Tulum with a party of 12. We were pretty pressed for time with the travel but enjoyed our guide at the site.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
It was not as quick as getting on board but we were probably done in 30-40 mins.
