Overall this was a very nice cruise, and we enjoyed all the ports. Not a big fan of the decor of the ship compared to many others in the fleet. We did like the layout of the ship it was well thought out and designed to spread people out.
The one sore spot for me was the food, Carnival is not really known for their food, but most of their ships are a step or two above this one in my opinion. However, in the long run I did not go hungry and I always found something to eat although sometimes it took a while.
Getting on and off the ship was easy, The port of Tampa is a very nice port, they have their stuff together.
Embarkation

Great, fastest trip ever onto a ship.

Food and Dining
1 out of 5
If you are into spending at least 2 hours just to eat a very average meal the main dining room on this ship may be the place for you. It also could be your best option to get food that is at least fairly good. The buffet has some good dishes at every meal, the trick is finding them.
The one thing that I noticed on this ship that I have not noticed on other ships is the food filled me up very fast and made be feel bloated. I still wonder why because when I left the ship the problem stopped.
Two bright spots were the Deli and the Ice cream machines. The Deli had the best french fries on the ship and a great tuna sandwich. The ice cream as on any Carnival ship I have ever been on was always a tasty treat in the heat.
Onboard Activities

We liked the Serenity area of the ship, It has a nice little pool, a hot tub and plenty of seating in both sun and shade.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
We saw all the early shows in the comedy club which is in a great little theater type setting under the main theater area of the ship. Found the jokes to be tasteful and funny and enjoyed the shows. Went to the epic rock show in the main theater and found this cast did the show pretty well. Have seen the same show many times over the past few years with different casts on different ships, this was one of the better ones.
Children's Programs
We did not bring any kids this time.
Service and Staff

Top notch on this ship, the captain should be proud.
Ship Quality

This ship was always well kept and clean. The layout is one of the best I have ever seen. Very good design for traffic flow and spreading people out.
Cabin / Stateroom

Pretty standard cabin, It was kept nice and clean by our cabin guy and there was plenty of room for just the two of us. The art work was not to my taste but the decor of the entire ship is a bit strange in my opinion.
Ship tip
There are secret little hallways that lead from the mid elevators directly to the ice cream machines on deck 9
Nice port, many nice shops, but a pretty good walk up a hill to get to them. Took an eye opening tour called Roatan by land and sea. Got a real good look at how the people on the island live. We are so lucky in the States.
Did not do an excursion this time. Went to port walked around and bought a few things, it is an ok port that is due for some updating. The excursions we have taken in the past have always been good.
Cozumel is a very popular port, have been there many times and always find something new and exciting to do. This time we rode electric bikes on a bike trail on the east side of the island. The east side is undeveloped and has the most scenic shoreline, it is beautiful. Could be my favorite excursion ever.
Everyone was off the ship in record time, by 9:30, so we all ended up piled up at customs mooing in the cattle shuts, but it was still a pretty smooth and fast process.
Funny you should say carnival is not good for food ? We have had 26 cruises and until the last cruise the we had only small issues with the food in the MDR if it was cold we sent it back the same as we would do in a restaurant...
But this last cruise the food was very average we had the Matrde Dessi who we know came to the table with the head chef Sevi and let him know what the issues where with the dinner menu ... it was dry , cold and unappealing...
So I don't believe the issue with carnival food is warranted ....
The chef Matrde and staff make all the difference in the MDR and you should make it know to them if you have any issues with your food .. we have been on the Legend a few times and the food in the MDR has been lovely .. as we very really eat lunch so don't do the buffet as buffet anywhere I can do without ...
hopefully next time if you have a food issue you will let them know why your not happy after all it's your vacation!!!!!
