Review summary

Fun cruise but never again on a ship of this age. The food was good but not enough of the specialty restaurants.

Embarkation

Over a thousand people standing in a hot terminal waiting for boarding. Late due to Coast Guard drill, not Carnival's fault. Was told by an employee than the assigned time on your boarding pass means nothing as no one checks. MOB scene.

Shows were very good. The magician/comedy act was the worst I have ever seen on 40 cruises.

The jacuzzi tub was broken but fixed the next day. When used, after a clean up, there was yellow scum floating in the tub. Never used again. Room steward tried everything to correct. Found out all the tubs were having the same problem.

Ship tip

Wait for the Carnival Marti Gras or pick a newer ship.

Just another wanna be wanting something for free. Needs to learn to do research before booking. Fucking youtube dumbass gives plenty of video of each ship

Exactly research do your homework if you want all the bells and whistles then book a newer ship .... Can’t blame anyone but yourself bigger ships have many restaurants you get what you pay for ..,,,

When people complain that a ship is too old or too small or too large it just means they didn't think before booking. That information is right out there. We cruised on brand new and newer ships as well as older refurbished with 1000 to 2500 to over 4000 people on board. Each of them has something different to offer and it's up to us to find what we like and enjoy.

I am always amused when I see people mention a ship being “old” and too small. I guess it’s what you get used to. The first ships I cruised on in the 80s and early 90s were built in the 50s and were about 20,000 - 30,000 GT and held 400 - 700 passengers. Now many people consider anything over 10 years old too old and anything less than 150,000 GT and 3,000 passengers as small.
