Review summary

Since this was our first cruise, my wife and I came into the experience pretty open minded. We were cruising with another experienced couple, so we did have expectations regarding food, service, etc. What we found: PROs: Buffet was good, when it was available and if you were willing to wait in line. Room size was much larger than expected. Very clean ship. Decent shows. CONs: The dinners in Truffles were not good, and service was very slow. Just about everything except the food, shows, and room service cost more money. Drinks were expensive and were constantly pushed by multiple staff members. The whole cruise felt like a marketing scheme more than a vacation.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Truffles was not good at all. The buffet was good, but limited most of the time. (Unless you like pizza)

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The shows were very good, and there seemed a good variety. We particularly enjoyed the comics.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Most of the staff was tolerant, unless you were buying something, then they were very attentive.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Ship layout was ok once we got the hang of it. Very clean ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Very happy with the stateroom. It was much larger than we thought it would be.

Ports of call

Cozumel, Mexico

3 out of 5
Very pretty, and willing to barter on cost. We did the Jeep/Paradise Isle excursion and enjoyed it.

Belize City, Belize

The poorest port we visited, but VERY friendly people. This was our second favorite port. Cave tubing was good, but I particularly enjoyed the walk to the caves. The guide was very informative about how the local people live, the rain forest, and the country in general.

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

5 out of 5
Our favorite port of call. Very friendly people, and very beautiful port. the zip lines were great.

George Town, Grand Cayman

Arrogant people who only care about the money you have. Very impatient with tourist. We scuba dived here and only half our group got to actually scuba dive because the instructor would not take the time with those having difficulty to work with them and make them comfortable in the water. Very disappointed with this port. Everything is Very expensive.

Pros: The Buffet (when it was available)

Cons: Staff

Recommends Carnival Legend? No.
