Review summary

As first time cruisers we really were open to what ever would be. We have heard great stories and some not so great. I am happy to say we can add our great story to many others. As we boarded the Carnival Legend for our Western Caribbean cruise I was loaded with every possible motion sickness pills, bands etc... that one could find on the market. To my very pleasant surprise I didn't need one of them. I am sure that great weather conditions had a bit to do with the smooth sailing, but coming from a girl who cant ride in a motor boat for more than 10 min without being sick, the ease of motion was a great surprise. The ship seamed a little dated, however it was very clean. The staff was incredible in their strict detail to cleanliness. Our Cabins were tended to twice a day and turn down service included a towel character, which even at my age I came to look forward to. Talk about organization.... getting on an off the ship at ports is a real art and they have it down. If you listen to the instructions given, there is little to no waiting. We had little eating time during the day as we were off on excursions, however we did catch the buffet/cafe a couple of times and it was all very good. We had "our time dinning" which we made it to every evening and had the good fortune of getting Carlos as our waiter. We continued to request Carols every evening even when we were quoted an hour wait.... Yes, he was that good. Carlos made it so much fun, he and his team of two others. We would travel the Carnival Legend again just to have Carlos as our waiter. The pools were a bit smaller than I anticipated, however enough to cool off. I wish we had more pool time, but being a first time cruiser we tried to get in everything that we could... Take advantage of the excursions they offer, the ones we went on were wonderful. Belize, cave tubing. Honduras, zip lining. Grand Cayman, snorkeling and swimming with the stingrays is a must. All and all a WONDERFUL trip. Would do it again... make that WILL do it again.

We did the cave tubing and it was wonderful. The bus takes you through a very depressed city and country side. Try the local Beans and Rice... Yum Not much in the way of shops in port. Lot's not opened because we arrived 6am island time. As with all the excursions make sure you have plenty of small bills $ on you as you are asked to tip, or I should say tips are greatly appreciated by everyone. The bus driver who takes you up the mountain, the bus driver who takes you down the mountain, your guide, the wash room attendant...etc.
Don't Miss: Cave Tubing

Went to paradise beach and it was beautiful, however charged for everything $2 for a chair, $14 to jump on the water toys, food expensive. Had to have a taxi to get anywhere as there was no beach close to the port. Nothing to do near the port except shopping, and in comparison to the other islands this was the best for shopping, so if you see what you want get it in Cozumel as you wont find it any cheaper or anything better.

This is a must... snorkeling and swimming with the stingrays. It was incredible. Tried some fish and pork (of course served with rice and beans) from a little stand just outside the port. Cant get better than the real local stuff.
Don't Miss: Swimming with the Stingrays

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

Zip lining was awesome, even for some one who doesn't like heights. We hit the beach after and I had a massage right on the beach and we enjoyed some local beer and great jerk chicken with beans and rice.
Don't Miss: Zip lining

Pros: Everything.... Especially our waiter Carlos in the main Dinning Room

Cons: Can't think of anything....

Recommends Carnival Legend? Yes!
