Overall our experience was fantastic. We used Carnival over 13 years ago and was left with a not so positive experience. This cruise on the Legend turned that around. I think that Carnival has really stepped up and improved.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining

Buffets had great selections for whatever mood you were in. Amazing deserts. Meat cuts weren't the best, but there were alternatives. A unlimited soda card is available, but the amount of soda we drank it would not have been a value. It would be for those who drank soda often. The waitstaff did fun dances at dinner every night. I used to dread them, but this staff made it very fun :)
Entertainment

We did find ourselves hoping there were more activities to do. The shows/activities they did have were so much fun. More movie channels for down time when no activities were going on would have been great. The down time with no activities did force us to relax though. So, that was a blessing in disguise
Service and Staff

Each and every staff member we encountered went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. We were extremely impressed.
Ship Quality

Size was ok. Not too big and not to small. Extremely clean throughout. Decor was a bit dated in the bedrooms, but the fact that they were clean and comfortable won :)
Cabin / Stateroom

We had a balcony on the back of the ship. The doors were very thick and great soundproofing. Room was clean and comfortable!
After taking tender to shore, landed on a very small area to shop. There were tons of people trying to solicit through the fenced off area safe for shoppers. This was intimidating and bordering on annoying. Didn't appear to be the cleanest area. Others at our party that did an excursion said the country was absolutely beautiful, but run down.
Pancho's was the best Mexican restaurant in Cozumel. Definately worth a visit. Well priced. Shopping was great in town. A $7 taxi ride takes you to the middle of it. Beautiful views of the carribean water from the shops was nice. We did not take an excursion on this port. Many of the shop owners were overbearing to come into their stores, made for more "no thank-you's" than we could count.
The port where the ship docked was an amazing site. Beautiful views, hills and water. They had an amazing shopping area. We did an excursion of zip lining and ATV's. We got the opportunity to climb some hills to get to the zip line, which was great if you appreciate trees. The tour guides pointed out amazing old trees. We got to fly through the canopies and see tons of birds. On the ATV tour, more animals, trees and points of interest were pointed out. We got to ATV over the mountains and then onto the beach. How amazing!!! Mahogany Beach was another nice stop. They have ski lift type chairs to go over to that beach (or you could walk). It was like a resort style beach with restrooms, lockers and lounge chairs all the while on the beach. The water was amazing, with the back drop of old shipwrecks.
Another tender to get there. The land was absolutely beautiful and well kept. We went to the Sea Turtle Farm where we got to hold, interact and relax. A dream come true. A great excursion! After our turtle time was over, we went back to town in the shopping area. Shopping was amazing.
