Legendary cruise!

Sail Date: April 27, 2008

Reviewed: 7 years ago

Traveled As: Family (young children)

Room Type: Balcony

The Legend is basically the same ship as the Costa Mediterranea, which we sailed on last year. The ship is in fair condition...external decks and woodwork were not so clean. Interior hallway carpets were dirty. Our cabin was clean and in good condition, with the exception of our balcony.

We sailed to Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Belize, and Isle de Roatan, Honduras. My favorites were Cozumel and Roatan. Would have preferred a bit more time in each port, even if it meant one less port. It's always nice to have an evening in a port.

Our waitstaff was top notch. Our waitress, Indira, was wonderful...bonding with our 5 year old daughter to make her cruise special. The service combined with the awesome dinners made our dinnertime memorable.

Ship activities were so-so. The nightclub was quite lame during the evenings we stopped in. The casino was fun and staffed by friendly people. The classical trio who performed in various areas of the ship were very very good. Tired of the same hairy chest competition...need to create some new contests...maybe a worst sunburn contest.

Pros: Ports of call, food, shows

Cons: Smokers & smell of cigarettes EVERYWHERE! Too many FAT Americans!

Recommends Carnival Legend? Yes!

Cozumel, Mexico
Always yourself a TON of money and rent a car for the day and go where you want.
Don't Miss: Head to the south end of the island for some beautiful scenery.
George Town, Grand Cayman
We went to 7 Mile Beach this time, which is top notch. Overall, this port is very commercial with not much more than shopping, unless you take a tour & go snorkeling.
Don't Miss: 7 Mile Beach
Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras
Best place on the trip! Book an excursion with Victor Bodden tours and save $$$. They are the BEST. They will tailor a tour for you and take you anywhere you want for $25-40 p.p.
Don't Miss: Iguana farm, Victor Bodden's house, snorkeling at Half Moon Bay.
Belize City, Belize
Nice port still in it's infantcy...not much available as far as tours.
