Review summary

This was our first Carnival Cruise and we were pleasantly surprised, having heard negative things about this cruise line. The ship was beautiful, although a little gawdy, but was very comparable in service and amenities to the other cruise lines we have been on. The food however was not as good as we have had on other ships. The buffets were just fine, but the main dining room was a bit disappointing- most of the beef dishes were tough.

Ports of call

Belize City, Belize

We took the Mayan ruins tour here to Altun-Ha. It was very interesting to see the difference between the site here, and the one in Mexico. We got a city tour on the way, but I must say, Belize City was not very attractive or interesting. We got quite a long ride throught the country to the ruins and it was interesting to see the way people live here.
Don't Miss: You need to get out of the city to enjoy anything about Belize

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

We didn't do an excursion here and we really should have. There was very little to see near the port and it was very third world and poor
Don't Miss: Get out to a beach- we heard they were beautiful

Cozumel, Mexico

We did the all day excursion to the Mayan ruins of Tulum. It was awesome! The tour guide was wonderful, and we also got to see part of the area on the way to the ruins. The ruins are very well preserved and maintained, and the view from the cliffs overlooking the ocean was one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen
Don't Miss: The ruins at Tulum

George Town, Grand Cayman

Grand Cayman was beautiful and the water was so blue. We took the semi-submarine tour and enjoyed it very much. It was like snorkeling, except we didn't have to get wet. We had plenty of time afterward to explore the shops around the port and enjoy the tropical feel of this island
Don't Miss: the semi-sub tour was well worth it

Pros: The ship's staff was excellent, especially cruise director, Jen. She was awesome!

Cons: The food in the main dining room was just average
