Review summary

Gorgeous ship, great fun and entertainment! I would definitely said on the Jubilee again!

Embarkation

This was our first time sailing out of the port of Galveston. It was VERY hot and chaotic, especially the baggage handlers. Once we got into the terminal it went very quick and easy. It was clean and cool 😎

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
As with many previous sailors, I would have to agree that the food was very hit or miss. I have to be fair and say that the variety was definitely a plus but I am honestly not a fan of the new style buffet. The food choices don't change much. In saying that, I never went hungry lol

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
There is so much to see and do. It's almost too big of a ship 🚢 when trying to "fit it all in" on the plus side that just means you need to cruise the Excel class ships twice 🫢

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Plenty of entertainment. Very nice variety. The kids even enjoyed it!

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
We had an 8 year old boy and two sixteen year old girls with us. They always had something to do or something they wanted to do. I would say that many of the younger kids enjoyed the hot tubs, too.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
While I did not have a bad experience with any member of the staff in any instance, I just did not feel that friendly, welcome feeling that I have on previous ships. I would also have to agree with other posts about the dining staff trying very hard to upsell juice's and drinks. I didn'tlove that intrusion.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
After sailing on both the Celebration and the Jubilee, I can say that they are both absolutely beautiful ships, BUT I found the Jubilee to be overall in better condition than the Celebration was this time last year. ( They were basically the same age when I sailed on each one, for reference) Unlike some previous reviews about the comfort level and air conditioning, I can tell you we were in an interior cabin on deck 12 and we were VERY comfortable. We turned our A/C off off on day two and only turned it on on occasion.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

Galveston is 🔥 🥵 HOT!!! I'm not used to that kind of heat. The people that we encountered were friendly, and we truly didn't have any major problems. I may sail out of Galveston again one day but it won't be when it's hot. 🤣

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

We just browsed around the port. We did not do any excursions. This was our 4th cruise but it was the second cruise for my brother and his wide. This was the first cruise for their kids so we didn't book anything because we wanted to see how they liked cruising and how they did with the ports. I'm happy to say they had a really wonderful time and love cruising as much as we do. We will definitely do excursions on our next cruise.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

Disembarkation

It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either. It was definitely to our advantage to use Carnival's bus back to the airport. Speaking of ground transportation, we used AnitaRide to go from the airport to our hotel (The Hampshire Inn and Suites) I give them a 20/10 yep a 20 They are AMAZING! we used LYFT from the hotel to the cruise port. Our driver Steven was a 10/10.
