Review summary

I tried to be fare and even handed on this review and did not give them 1 star because I was mad. Mostly I was just disappointed with the cruise. I will not be cruising on Carnival again.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
There give you a embarkation time, you show up on time. Then you wait in line after line after line.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
They talk about all the eat options on this ship. they are right there are a number of options. The problem is the included food options are not good at all. The buffet has about 1/3 of the options you will find on other cruise companies. You will also get no service what's so ever in the buffet, except for them trying to sell you juices or bottle water. We found out real fast that if you sit down, you will be approached by staff asking if you want water. They will then show up with a bottle of water and a ticket for you to sign. The pay for restaurants make up about 1/2 of the restaurants and some do have good food, but you are paying extra for that. It is almost like they are trying to force to go to the paid restaurants with the bad food at the included restaurants. The food highlight was the Guys Burgers venue, very good burger. The problem was, in order to get a burger you had to stand in a hot exterior line for 20 to 30 mins. The quality and option of the food over all is not nearly as good as other Cruise companies. It is kind of insulting for them to charge you extra for the only good food on the ship.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
The activities on board were pretty good. The included activities always had lines to use, but not to bad. They had a huge big screen on the pool deck and played movies on it at night. They was a pretty cool deal. They have a roller coaster called the Bolt that was great. But guess what, yes they charge you to ride on it. Inside activities include a Deal No Deal game that was fun, but guess again yes they charge you to play. Yes they do give away money, but it is a super small percentage of the money they take in on the game. Bingo was the same way, I think they may pay out about 10% of the money they take in. One thing that struck me about the bingo game was there were no bingo balls, numbers were picked by a company computer. Kinda sketchy if you ask me.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Entertainment was OK

Children's Programs

4 out of 5
They really tried to take care of the kids and give them a lot to do.

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
Our Cabin guy was great, but in general the staff did not have time to help you.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The ship was clean. The problem I have with the design is that they are going back in time. We are avid cruisers with about 30 cruises under our belt. I can remember years ago the ships had low ceilings and were closed in with no big areas. All that changed with the big ships starting about 15 years ago. This ship has gone back the other way. The ceilings are coming down, the walk areas are getting smaller. The elevators are quit a bit smaller that any I have seen in 20 years. There is no club on the ship, just a bunch of small bars. The theater on most of the new ships is 2 or 3 stories with massive rooms. This ship not so much, 1 Storie with low ceiling. Here is the big deal with this ship is they gave up common space so they could fit in more rooms. Here is the problem with that, there is so many people in smaller spaces it is like being in New York City. People everywhere and lines to everything. Not Fun!!!

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin was clean and designed well. It had a new design in the bathroom with a larger shower. The shower is great with the extra room, better than any other ship We have ever been on. Cabins a win except for one thing. The TV channel line up was terrible. No legacy channels, no Fox News. In fact no news channels from any TV stations.

Ship tip

Pick another ship.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

3 out of 5
They do not have a very orderly boarding process.

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

3 out of 5
They were about like most ports of call.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

3 out of 5

Cozumel, Mexico

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
It was much more orderly than the boarding process.

While I agree the food could be better, especially the buffet, I find it hard to believe an avid cruiser is surprised by the extra charges in some of those activities you listed. On any other cruise line they would charge for those things as well. I vote FAKE too.

I've been mad at Royal Caribbean over that whole Kummelwick thing and I still can't get over it

This sounds like a 1st time cruiser. No way you don't know you picked an arrival time not a boarding time. You've never waited in lines on any of your 30 cruises, especially in the middle of summer 🤔 Jubilee has MANY dining & entertainment venues

It’s not embarkation time it’s arrival time at the terminal.

There are some things wrong with this review. First, most of the restaurants are free at current, with the only venues charging for meals are Emeril’s at dinner as well as the steak house and Rudi’s Sea Grill. Everything else (and there are a lot), is included for the inaugural season. Also, I have sailed jubilee at max capacity, and never waited 30 minutes for Guys nor any other to go food venue. Second, you’re complaining about arrival appointment and lines. If you have cruised 30 times on any ship of size, you will always have some sort of line. Varying factors can determine how quickly they move. Finally, Jubilee has far more venue’s to help disperse people to varying areas and in my experience this helped with overcrowding as there were so many things taking place at one time. It may be a good idea for you to stick with smaller ships for a better experience. Happy Sails 🛳️🏝️

Most ships have waits for everything but not that long. We’ve been on 10 cruises and loved them all. You say you’ve been on atleast 30 but none are listed in your profile even the one with the review. And no pictures. How can someone go on that many cruises and not have pictures???!
