Review summary

We had an AMAZING time! Never realized how a economical it was to Cruise! Best and most relaxing way to Travel! Can't wait till my next Cruise, 6/3/18

Embarkation

5 out of 5
With FTTF we breezed right through! Didn't have passports, didn't need them! Birth Certificates and Photo ID was all we needed! No issues at security or check in! I was very impressed with how quick it actually was!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
AMAZING! Loved ALL the options and quality of the food! Anything you wanted pretty much any time of the day!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Even though we didn't use all the amenities on the ship, we did enjoy the ones we did use! With So much to do, you can't possibly Do EVERYTHING on a 4 day Cruise! Mostly just hung out and People Watched!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We enjoyed all of the activities we were about to attend! Comedy Show, Contests, Hasbro Game Show, Just hanging out on the Lido Deck and People watching!

Children's Programs

My daughter (15) didn't really show an interest until day 3, and even then she only attended to Teen Club for a few minutes!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
They treat you like Royalty! Anything you want at anytime of the Day! So Friendly and Attentive to the needs of all the passengers.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Of Course it's an older ship, but it is kept and maintained very well! The Crew Takes a lot of Pride in their ship and it really shows! The Elevators are a bit confusing, took a few days to get the hang of it, by then it was time to get off, but I'll be a pro for my next cruise!

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Our Cabin was Nice, But being in an interior cabin was very claustrophobic! Not even knowing what time if day it is was very un-nerving! Once we returned to port I immediately upgraded to an exterior room with a window for my next Cruise in June 2018.

Ship tip

1) Take a few minutes to get familiar with the elevators, they don't all go to every deck - getting around the ship was very confusing to First time Cruisers like us! 2) Spring for the on-board wi-fi so you can use the Carnival Hub App! You can plan your whole day - add activities as favorites and get reminders as well as keep in touch with your party! It was worth it for us!

Ports of call

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California

3 out of 5
I think the only reason I'm rating it a 3 is because of the construction leading into the port and the wildfires burning in cities nearby...filled the air with smoke and ash that blew out over the ocean. I imagine that under different circumstances it would get a higher rating.

Catalina Island, California

5 out of 5
We rented a golf cart and followed the guided map provided and really enjoyed ourselves! Lots of places on the route to stop for pictures and see the quaintness of the island. We were able to stop and grab a bite to eat before heading back to the ship! Was a neat place to spend the day, or a couple hours anyway!

Ensenada, Mexico

3 out of 5
We stayed on the ship at this port mainly because 2 of us in our party have mobility issues and the walking distances even just to get to the shuttles or cabs was too much. But listening to discussions about the child pan-handlers and pushy sales people made us feel more comfortable with our decision to stay on board the ship! The views from the ship were nice though!

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
It was Breeze! Liked that, because we had checked baggage, we were able to stay on the ship a little bit longer! We enjoyed not being rushed for Breakfast, and being able to relax on deck for having to off was nice. Once it was our turn getting off was quick and easy... Breezed through Customs with NO issues!

Pros and cons to every vacation choice, but I agree with you, cruising is pretty economical (can be, depending on overall cruise cost).

Booked my 2018 Cruise first with a group of almost 30 friends, was able to plan my first cruise with my mom and daughter... So yeah you can say that!
