Review summary
This was a quick getaway with my 8 and 14 yo's for fall break. The boat was full of young fall break families, which worked out well and kept the kids entertained. There was a variety of entertainment for all ages, and everything was pretty well organized and maintained. This is an older and heavily-used ship, but I wasn't expecting anything fancy out of this trip. It is a good intro cruise, or good for a family getaway, and people all seemed to be having a great time.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
The terminal is under construction, so everything feels very temporary. Lines were slow, but they did try to organize into smaller groups to keep things organized and moving.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Food was good, not stellar but consistently good. We ate at the buffet many times, the burger and taco/burrito places and the Carnivale Dining Room for most dinners
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Pool was okay. Golf was okay. Trivia was okay.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Comedy, karaoke, game shows were fun. Piano bar was good.
Children's Programs
4 out of 5
Kids programs were good. My 8 year old had fun, but I thought they could have done more fun things with them besides basically just babysitting them. My high schooler had fun with the older kids, and enjoyed the facilities as well as the freedom.

Ship Quality
3 out of 5
The ship is very dated. They are maintaining it well, but it is in serious need of a makeover. The 90's mardi gras psuedo-Vegas color schemes were weird.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Clean, small like any normal cruise ship cabin. Window was large but dirty. There are never enough plugs, of course. But it was well maintained and functional.
We had a nice day with the JEEP excursion. Overpaid for the kids though, since they basically just got to sit the back of a JEEP for $79 each. They didn't get to have wine or tequila, of course, and they cost the same as adults.
