Review summary
Overall we had a fabulous time! I highly recommend this cruise yet is the perfect amount of time and the ship is very nice! I love the fact that we were able to walk around Catalina Island and excursion to Encenada was fun too!
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Embarkation was fabulous! We had priority boarding and we were on the ship in minutes! It was GREAT!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The food was very good. However, I was very disappointed in the service in the dining room. We were seated right outside the kitchen on two subsequent nights. The second night outside of the kitchen the service was incredibly slow! Dinner took over an house and a half and we didn't have any special orders!
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Didn't really use any!
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Very good comedy shows! The welcome aboard show was very loud and the towel animals narration was annoying so we skipped all the other song and dance shows.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
The waiters in the dining room were very slow! Our room steward was wonderful so I wish I could give separate stars for her! I would've given her five stars and the waiters in the dining room two stars!
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
I was very impressed with the beauty of the ship overall! I found it extremely clean and well-maintained!
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
We had a Junior suite and it was comfortable but not any larger than a normal cabin! I was very disappointed with the size of the balcony! We had to climb over a chair to sit in the chair and I seriously doubt the depth was even 3 feet! I have been on many cruises with a balcony and never had a balcony that small. Since there were three of us in the room, to be on the balcony at the same time we all had to stand in between the furniture! As far as the cleanliness of the cabin is concerned, it was done very well!
Ship tip
Don't pay more for a Junior suite! Regular balcony room is better!
We did not do an excursion, but we walked around and we ended up taking a tour of the casino and we loved it! Catalina Island was our favorite stop, it was peaceful and fun to shop! We stopped at a restaurant for a drink and a snack and that was very pleasant too!
We did the barhopping tour and it was fun! The music was pretty loud and I think the drinks for watered down, but that was fine with me! The guide was wonderful and the driver as well was very nice! Rafael was our guide and he did a great job!
