Review summary

Overall this trip was a good trip for a short get away. It is a ship that operates with attempts to focus on peoples' needs and it is always interesting talking to the people that are employed that come from all over the world to work for Carnival. The ship did have an atmospheres of people of all colors getting along. Young and Old, men and women, and boys and girls all enjoying a good time on board the Carnival ship.

Buffet was good with nice selection of foods and always fresh displays. Main dining did not have good selections that did not cost additional money. Some of the food ordered was not severed hot and was tasteless. Breakfast and lunch by pool area on Lido deck was good.

Onboard Activities

I was expecting to see a live show as I did on my 7 day cruise and it appears that one is not scheduled on this cruise. Some areas have a BIG push to purchase a drink from the bar.

Ship Quality

Inside workers are very good about keeping ship clean. I purchased a window cabin to enjoy the scenery as we sail and the cabin window from outside was thick of dirt and grim that it distorted the view and made it almost impossible to see through window. Windows on your advertisement show windows very clean and clear which is not true. I recommend not empting Lido deck pool on day at sea as everyone had no other pool to enjoy. Our trip got robbed with one important day without pool. Why wasn't it emptied and cleaned during a port day?

Cabin / Stateroom

Not much of an oceanview cabin with the dirty windows from the outside. All that I could see is the dirt and grim of the windows that apparently did not get cleaned for the life of the ship on the water. This is not acceptable since I pay extra to have an Oceanview cabin. Inside was kept clean however my bottom drawer did not close properly and I removed the drawer and found two items of clothes behind the drawer that prevented drawer from closing all the way. Apparently cabin steward do not look at details when cleaning.

Think carefully about activities and pack accordingly. avoid over packing.

I only attempted to visit Catalina Port from ship and process was organized to did-embark but the tender that I was assigned took an awful long time to get to port. We were just flowing after we pulled away from ship without anyone informing us as to what went wrong. Everyone began to smell the gas fumes as tender had engine running but just floating on water. After a very long time just floating, we began to arrive at port. Not a good experience.
