Review summary

Enjoyed the cruise and the activities. Having the Hub app was very useful. If you don't want to put up with the awful buffet food plan to eat lots of burgers and tacos.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Quick and easy. Tip a porter to take your bag if you are an early check in. Cabins don't open until 1:30 so if you carry your bags on you may have to drag them around with you.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Guy Fieri burgers and the tacos on Lido deck were excellent. The rest of the included food was bad. The dining room food was passable but not any better than a frozen meal. The buffet food including pizza was AWFUL.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Plenty of things to do.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
All entertainment options were good. Comedy shows, stage shows, piano bar....all fun. The only down side was the movie screen was tiny in a big room. Did not make it worthwhile to even try to watch the movie

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone was very friendly and helpful

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Inspiration is an older ship and it shows. Old decor and broken items.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin was near the bow and the ride was mostly stable. Like all cabins unless you get a suite, are small but there was enough room for two people to be comfortable. The only downside to this cabin is the TV was mounted above the head of the bed so you had to lie down on the bed with your pillow with the foot to see a picture

Ship tip

Download the Hub app. This was awesome so see all activities and locate everything. The app and use are free. You can activate the text message part of the app for $5.

Ports of call

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California

3 out of 5
Not much to say. Only saw the cruise terminal.

Ensenada, Mexico

4 out of 5
This is a short day and most activities can be done in the hours in port. Purchasing activities at the port from a local vendor costs about 60% less than buying through Carnival.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Extremely fast and easy. Faster if you are at midship or aft than being forward.

I guess that is an option. Sad you pay for a cruise to eat lots of hamburgers and tacos. But if that is what you want, they have it. Order up!
