Review summary

The overall experience was good except for every night when we went to bed there was loud banging and bumping sounds coming for a storage room above us.  I talked to guest services on three separate occations but they never cared enough to solve the problem. We where woken up numerous times a night all four nights. Guest services said they were sorry and gave us a small discount but I wish they could have solved the problem. No rest at sea.   Don't book room e152

Write Carnival and see if you get more results. When I had that problem a few years ago, they changed my room, which was quiet

There is a string of cabins on Empress Deck that run directly below the two dining rooms. This is the passage way where they roll thru food, dishes, etc. If we end up in that row, I have ear plugs that do the trick. Some-times we get those cabins when we book the pack & go rate.

Thanks for the advice. It would be nice if cruise ships stacked the storage areas rather than putting rooms underneath them, but I doubt things will change.

CruisinTim has good advice in that when booking, you should review the deck plans so you know what is over, under and next to you. Cabins surrounding you are usually quiet, as are quiet public areas (such as the spa). Avoid lounges and "blank" areas.

Sorry you weren't happy with your cabin location. Next time, I would recommend you research using a deckplan from either the cruise line website or from a site such as deckplans.com to see what is around the cabin you are planning to book. I usually have the deckplan open when I'm talking to my agent on the phone to make sure there are no venues around me that will go "bump in the night".  Hope your next sailing is better. :)
