Great service, disappointed with Zika

Sail Date: May 02, 2016

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

We loved our cruise experience, however we didn't realize that the area was going to was affected by the Zika virus, and since my wife is pregnant that really limited our possibilities.  It was great other than that though.  Can't wait to go again!

Cabin / Stateroom
Great cabin. We were at the back of the ship which allowed a quieter place and wider hallway. It was fun watching the last port slowly fade out of view.
Embarkation and Disembarkation
Get there early and they may let you on before they say they will. We were on board having the buffet by 11am! Leave your luggage out the last night and then you can enjoy a leisurely breakfast that day as well!
Ship Quality
Destinations and Excursions
Few options for pregnant women.
Onboard Activities
Would have liked to have had more shows and movies.
Entertainment
Watch out for the evening shows, as they may be a little more revealing than anticipated. Not all family friendly. The comedy was also sub par using old jokes and crass humor to get a laugh.
Service and Staff
Food and Dining
Awesome service and great food. Frog legs, alligator, and escargot were featured.
Long Beach (Los Angeles), California
Catalina Island, California
Electric bikes are the way to go. Cheapest and can still get you all around the island at nearly 20mph.
Ensenada, Mexico
A shuttle for a couple dollars can take you in to town. The port from the ship is less than impressive.

Tip

Can't decide on only one dessert? Ask for a plate to go and they can send you out the door with an extra dessert instead of ordering room service at 1am. We were also told passengers on Carnival get a free visit to see the Queen Mary ship just feet away from the Carnival Port, not sure if true.
