Review summary

Overall, it wasn't a bad cruise, but we probably won't cruise through carnival again. The food is a big deal to us and we also aren't really big "party" people. This crowd was a lot noisier and drank a lot more. We also didn't think having a lot of kids on board would bother us (we have three kids at home), but they were running through the halls, pushing all the buttons on the elevators, and calling our room randomly (FIVE times in three days, we got random calls, one time at midnight). It wasn't really what we were looking for from our vacation.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was okay, but not as good as we were hoping (we did a cruise through Celebrity a few years ago and the food was excellent). There was some great food this time (the dinners were pretty good and there was an omelet place we liked), but for the most part, we were disappointed. The pizza was especially bad.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Our favorite was a latin dance class, that was really fun (though they did it in a really bad place, where people were trying to walk through the entire time and there wasn't really enough room). We also enjoyed the mini golf up top.

Entertainment

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All the staff were amazing. They were friendly, helpful, and there was always someone around when we needed help.

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
The cabin was fine (we had an interior). But you don't go on a cruise for your cabin.

Ship tip

Unplug your phone. We got random calls FIVE times (three of which while we were sleeping) in the first three days in the ship before we finally just unplugged it.

I totally agree with your review. We enjoy kids but with being older and my husband walking with a cane and not real steady it makes it hard with a bunch of children run in all over and almost tripping on them. They deserve to have fun also but sometimes I think the parents need to step in. We try to plan our trips when they should be in school and it works quite well.

These short cruises are much different than longer ones, even comparing Carnival to Carnival. The food, entertainment, and atmosphere are better on longer cruises. That said we still enjoy this 4 nt cruise, definitely don’t do the 3 nt for this same reason.

Which cruise were you on. It doesn't show up on your profile page.

Thank you for the honest review. We love fun and the meals are important to us. We have grown kids and grandkids and the cruises are OUR vacation time. We were on the Mariner of the Seas Sept 16th and was on the Caribbean Princess June 01 both of this year. Because I had something to compare with we are sticking with Princess Cruise Line for our future cruises. We LOVED THE DINING ROOM MEALS AND FIRST CLASS ENTERTAINMENT on the Caribbean Princess. We are checking out the Regal Princess on January 5th and can't wait for Caribbean Princess on June 06. It is perfect for our likes.
