Review summary

We recommend this cruise for an affordable and quick getaway! Stress Free!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Of all the cruises I have been on, Carnival has done the best job of accommodating my low vision condition.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Excellent! Great service at tables 377, 373, 368 for 6 pm dining.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We really enjoyed Trivial Pursuit with the huge wedges, and we loved the library!

Entertainment

because we didn't use it and generall spent time with family on board.

Children's Programs

We had no children with us.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room steward, Richard took great care of us and made sure we had everything we needed. Our wait staff at tables 377, and 368 in the Spirit Dining Room took extra care to accommodate and spoil our large family group, even when we swapped tables around, which included table 373. They learned and remembered all of our names and helped entertain our 2 year old great-nephew.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
I missed an outdoor promenade deck which would have been more accessableto me with my low vision.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We purchased the cheapest ocean view room available which turned out to be highly comfortable, and the bathroom was the largest and best lit of any we have ever experienced. Our room steward, Richard, who was always smiling, made us feel like royalty.

Ship tip

Plan to relax and have a wonderful time!

Ports of call

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California

5 out of 5
We arrived a day early and spent some time in Long Beach, which made us feel relaxed with the overall embarkation process.

Catalina Island, California

5 out of 5
We just wandered around town and enjoyed the shops and restaurants. One of us remained on board and spent quiet time in the beautiful library.

Ensenada, Mexico

5 out of 5
Our entire family group took a bus tour of the city and La Bufadora, during which we had a fun tour guide with the unusual name of /we-coat/ which is merely a phonetic spelling of his Russian name. He entertained us and filled us in with many details of life in Ensenada. We had delicious tacos and shopped 'til we dropped.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
smooth, quick and well organized
