Review summary
The cruise experience was better than I expected. I sailed on Carnival in the late 80's and mid 90's and was not impressed either time. I have avoided Carnival ever since. However, I was happily surprised at the quality experience.

The food was good in both the buffet and the main dining room.

We had a couples massage and which was great, but were then subjected to a sales pitch for products at an outrageous price. The price for the massage was already on the high end and the sales pitch at the end made the experience very disappointing. We did not leave the spa with a positive feeling. I will say that the young ladies who provided the massage were good at that and did not try to hard sell us on the products. Once we said no, the accepted that.

Our, stewardess, Esperanza, was top shelf! She was attentive, polite, and always remembered our names.

Our cabin had a balcony and that was a nice amenity. Our cabin was clean and functional.
Ship tip
Watch the karaoke. It was more entertaining than both of the comedians on board.
We arrived at the Port of Long Beach for the purpose of the cruise, and touring the LB area. We have done that in the past so there was no need this trip.
Great job on disembarkation. We had priority boarding and disembarkation and we were on and off very fast. This was very helpful after a 4.5 hour drive to get there and the same to return home.
