Review summary

had a very enjoyable time and considering this was a short cruise it was very interactive and fun.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
First time cruise as a couple many time cruises in past./ for a short cruise we felt content with it for the most part. embarkation process relatively simple and quick...

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
For most part very nice however we were upset at being told 20 min wait to be seated and waited almost 1 hour even though we arrived at assigned dinner time selected Hostesses seating many parties that arrived way after us of same size and were not seated until we approached hostess. It seems to us that formal night most passengers go to dinner between 6 -8 and Dining room we were assigned was over whelmed I would think this is an ongoing issue and should be issue that needs addressed by carnival planners to correct and maybe have a more fluid dining program in place to avoid this in future...

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
dancing, comedy club, show, family games and casino Cruise director was very funny and energtic making everyone feel a part of the experience.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
most were very nice...comics were good but a bit vulgar at times too many references to sexual organs and parts rather much

Children's Programs

4 out of 5
no children with us

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
our steward Jonathan was excellent and loved his sweet towel characters each nite.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
in beginning finding venues and places was a bit confusing but in day or so we navigated floors and event happening places ok. Maybe a highlighted floor map where events are happening on that day would be helpful mostly for the older folks..

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
it was good size for most part....I only notice bathtub faucet handles a bit crusty with old dirt not very pleasant to touch..I carry disinfectant spray so treated the area..as issue of bacteria and virus can be ssue on cruises that may be issue to address with staff.... entry door did not seal all around therefore allowing noise level to be heard inside cabin from loud passengers passing by at night I'm just saying!

Ship tip

if you are planning to go on to stop ports , be sure to wear comfortable attire and shoes , sneakers as walking is prevalent in most. Be clear on what prices on board included and what exact amount is the purchase to be made..Logo items will not be free so be sure you are aware before accepting drinks, etc.

Ports of call

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California

only arrived and boarded ship there left for home to AZ once we arrived to LA

Catalina Island, California

..like cruise director and entertainment was good...director was very good and most energetic one we have had. Liked shows, casino , bar service and food was good as well...Did not like having to pay extra for shot glasses during dinner...was told $7 paid $17 on bill.. very disappointing felt mislead! Server should have a small price card so noise and foreign accent not an issue.

Ensenada, Mexico

3 out of 5
too many street vendors that bombard you with sales pitches....good fresh tacos nice interesting ocean view and blow hole enjoyed the man dancing in native indian garb.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
it was efficient and cruise director was there to thank everyone and shake hands and wish us good trip home....he was the best I have experienced cruising since 1991
