Very nice starter cruise to see if you like cruising as a vacation option.

Review summary

Great Cruise, I will definitely make cursing part of my future vacation plans, I am 100% sold, just on a newer ship to a better location. Your staff was great.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Great, had priority boarding so we walked on through, no waiting.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
It was like "wedding food" in theory awesome, in reality just good mass-produced "wedding food."

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Overall, fun, but the pool was packed with little kids screaming all the time. Great for them they had fun, but if you are a little older it most likely will not be as enjoyable.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
There was a lot to choose from, you will find something you like.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Cabin steward was great, very helpful and friendly.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship is old, or just worn out in places. It needs an overhaul to get back to it's designed glory days.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Loved the room, I will never step down to a lower cabin. But, again the cabin was showing signs of being in need of refurbishing. The door to the balcony was coming off of the frame, rust showing. The bathroom was clean but old and worn out, but not dirty.

Ship tip

Never never never book an inside cabin. When I walked by and the door was open by room service I looked in, wow super small, dim, and about the size of a small RV set up.

Ports of call

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California Did not visit port

Just passing through from Disneyland to get on the ship.

Catalina Island, California

5 out of 5
Great, rented a power boat to explore. Just like the photos, 100%. Two hour wait for a golf cart, so get there early.

Ensenada, Mexico

DO NOT go on the "Blow Hole" tour total rip off, $120 for 4 of us to take 50 min ride on an old bus that is on it's last legs to see water splash up the rocks. A fire hose is more entertaining, to see it you have to walk down a lane of vendors screaming at you to buy their junk that you can find at a flee market. Yelling at women "you looking for a Mexican boyfriend" they need security, don't forget to bring change, cash only and it's 50 cents each to use any bathroom. Shame on Carnival, pushing this a tour option.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Priority disembarkation was part of my plan. It took me 10 minutes for 4 of us to get off the boat and through Customs. Non-priority, the line looked long.

That's how we started 27 cruises ago. Went on Imagination and could not have been happier. The worse cruise we ever took was fantastic
