Cabin type: Inside

Cabin number: V36

Review summary

we enjoyed the cruise but were surprised on how small our cabin for 3 was. Thought we should have been warned on the cost of drinks; we would have been better prepared if we knew the cost. Shocked we had to purchase a lanyard for the room key. Otherwise, the ship was clean and the staff was very friendly

Embarkation

OK, first time for a cruise so a little hectic, otherwise it was fine

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
main dining room was excellent, service was specatcular. Buffet was way to crowded, they ran out of coffee before the buffet opened many mornings. Drinks are over-priced.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
we went to trivia, jenga, pool, and jogging track. All were good

Entertainment

5 out of 5
stage shows were excellent

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
service was excellent

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
ship was very clean

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
very small with roll-a-way bed, would have preferred a bunk which drops from wall. with bed un-folded there is no room to walk well event to the bathroom at night very dangerouse

Ship tip

we enjoyed the trip, but wish the tour of the bridge and ship was a little less pricey. I found too many hidden costs, like a lanyard for your key which you needed everywhere.

Ports of call

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California

we loved this port because we got to visit the Queen Mary!

Catalina Island, California

We did an excursion but it was not a Carnival one, it was a scavenger hunt with a golf cart. We took two different tenders, my husband took an earlier one and it took over 45 minutes to get back on the ship for him. I took one 30 minutes after him and returned to the ship 30 minutes before him.

Ensenada, Mexico

We did an excursion and enjoyed the wine tour. My husband and son, did the dune-buggy. We enjoyed them but when walking thru town shops there were too many children and women begging. it was not enjoyable.

Disembarkation

Was able to leave ship early in order to catch flights !
