Review summary

Two days after I booked cabin E139 thru CC.com Online discount seller, I realized why a block of available Empress Deck cabins were in the same general area that the seller was so proud to offer as a 2 category "upgrade". Those cabins are directly below the galley/kitchen.  Don't buy this "upgrade" because you will hear all kinds of noises from the galley all night long.  I have since learned you want to be "sandwiched" between other cabin only decks for the best comfort. Staying clear of elevators, stairwells, and children's areas which is also a concern when shopping what discount seller's have to offer.  Bottom line is use the deck plans to pick your location wisely.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
There is a $20 pp upcharge for any steak or lobster or surf & turf combination. Food was OK.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
The usual stuff.

Entertainment

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff works hard to please the guests. Drinks were made well.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
This ships interior is like a Las Vegas nightmare. It is keep clean, however.

Cabin / Stateroom

1 out of 5
Beware of what Online discount sellers have in their inventory. Most cabins are in poor locations for one reason or another. Ours was directly under the galley and kitchen noises could be heard at all hours of the day and night. Don't be fooled by an upgrade to the Empress Deck on Carnival Fantasy class ships.

Ship tip

Use the Serenity deck for piece and quite and the shade that it provides. No kids allowed.
