Review summary

The Imagination is an old ship by todays standards and does not offer a lot of bells and whistles. That being said the crew work hard to ensure the guests have a great experience. I took this cruise because it was short and my cruise partner had never been on a cruise before and we wanted to make sure she would enjoy the cruise experience before booking for a week or longer.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food in the dining room was good, service was spotty at times.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
I didn't think the lounge entertainers were very diverse, just one type of music.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Only 3 American crew members on the entire ship, communication was not always the best.

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

We had a suite with a large balcony so how can you go wrong!!

Ports of call

Key West, Florida

5 out of 5
Key West is great fun, only trouble is you are not in port very long (9:00am - 1:30pm) enough and you have to take a shuttle bus to get to where Carnival docks the boat. which reduces your "fun" time even more. 9:00am is too early to get into this port as much of Duval street isn't awake at this early hour.
Don't Miss: Butterfly Conservatory

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
You are in this port for a long time. Tours all leave the ship at the same time and it's chaos.
Don't Miss: Royal Dolphin swin

Pros: Cabin Space

Cons: Deck space, not enough lounge chairs
