For a first time cruiser I was a little disappointed there wasn't someone to help us out a little more and explain things. The Hub app was nice but I didn't like having to have my phone on me all the time, plus the Wifi kept dropping. Overall we both loved the cruise. The balcony was amazing.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
The process of boarding was very easy. Highly recommend using passport, it made boarding super easy. A little disappointed with the actual enter the ship. This was our first cruise and we didn't know what to do. It was a little overwhelming. It would have been nice to have someone guide us through this and explain things.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The buffets were ok. The specialty dinning was Wonderful. We picked the Steakhouse and Bonsai Teppanyaki. Bonsai was the best hibachi grill I've ever had. Main dining was beautiful but food was just ok. One night our waiter never checked on us and people that came in after us got their food and were done before we were and we missed a show due to it.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
The water slide was fun. We didn't get to swim. The 2 pools were always packed and the water looked dirty. The hot tub in the Serenity deck was really nice and quiet.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
We attended the comedy club a few times and it was really good.
Children's Programs
We didn't take any children with us.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The only bad service we had was one water in the Main dining. Our room steward was amazing. We had little towel animals each day. Our room was always clean and he greeted us by name in the hall every time he seen us. One of the balcony chairs broke when we sat down, we told him and he brought us another one and apologized. Super sweet!
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship was always clean. There were people constantly cleaning.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Our room was very comfortable. The temperature was great. We had plenty of room for the 2 of us. It was very clean. The TV was a little hard to use. I think the battery might have been low or something but I never said anything about it.
Since we used our passport to board, disembarkation was super easy. We didn't have to do anything special and were guided through quickly. We carried our luggage off which made things easier too.
I had that same experience my first cruise. I went to guys burger, ready to pay for the food. I asked where the register was? They looked very confused. Then, a nice passenger ask me was it my first cruise? He then started to explain how everything works from the sign and sail card to where to eat for free. He spent about 30 minutes going over everything with my wife and I. Every since then I take the time to explain to new comers if they ask a question.
