Review summary

Some of my favorite things on this cruise were: cruising!!! I wasn’t at work! The pizza was 5 stars (always fresh). The ports of call were amazing. I had never been that south in the Caribbean. I’d choose those ports again.

Embarkation

I’m a fairly seasoned cruiser and I’d have to say that this was by far the best experience when it came to embarkation at the cruise terminal in Miami. Our boarding time was 11:30-12:00. We got to the terminal at 11:20, we offered to wait until 11:30 but the agents at the gate said go ahead and stand in line. We are passport carriers and our entire group literally walked through each step of this process with ease. We were onboard by 11:35.

With mass food production, there will be some hit and misses but overall there’s something for everyone. Even the pickiest eaters. The MDR was slower in service this time around.

Onboard Activities

Tons to see and do. But the downfall was that sports square closed so early at 8p. This really made it harder to find things to do in the evenings besides the casino, a show or a movie on board. But we made the best of it. It would have been nice if they stayed open until 10p.

We had a standard balcony cabin on the port side. This room was close to a set of elevators on the aft part of the shop and overall a pretty quiet area. The room had the standard two twin bed (can be converted to a king) set up along with a couch that can be made into a twin bed. The mattresses on this ship seemed firmer than on other Carnival cruises and the pillows were flat. But like with everything else, it’s a preference thing and we still made the best of it. Plenty of closet storage, drawers and shelving.

Ship tip

Enjoy yourself. Don’t let all of the negative reviews scare you. Cruising and vacations are what you make of them.

I found out that if your bed is too firm, your room steward can make it softer for you. Thanks for sharing.
