Review summary

Disappointing vacation, overall experience was less that satisfactory. Thank goodness we booked all day excursions to get us off the ship for two of the days. The excursions were the best part of this vacation.

Food and Dining

Main dinning room forgot about us while we were waiting for the final course, were rude. Buffet was very dirty, tables were always full of dirty dishes keeping us from finding a table. Pizza place staff was rude, we ordered pizza and they didn't want to be bothered with anything other than pepperoni to get rid of the line. We waiting 40 minutes for our pizza's, the only reason they were made is because we asked the "chef" making the pizzas. The person taking the orders never told him what we wanted. Two evenings that's all they would make and told us "only pepperoni".

Onboard Activities

Pool was awful, we were harassed every day by the chair police. I went to the poolside bar to order drinks because there wasn't enough staff walking around taking drinks. The line was extensive, I waited 40 minutes to go back to my chair and find someone else sitting in it and my stuff gone! Same thing happened the next day when I walked to get a burger and the line was very long, waited 45 minutes in line to go back to sit and eat to find all my stuff gone and someone else in my seat. SO... If you want to keep your seat, have someone else sit in it if you are trying to enjoy poolside amenities. The staff is RUDE and doesn't care if you are getting a burger, tacos, drinks or dipping your big toe in the pool to cool off. The poolside TV has "rules and regulations" that clearly state after 45 minutes your items will be removed from your chair for others to enjoy however, poolside staff cannot add; every sticker I had placed on my chair was for 30 minutes.

The entertainment was okay. The best part was when the cruise director was involved. She was incredible and if this question was just about her it would have been 5 stars.

HORRIBLE including the staff in the Carnival gift shop. We went in to buy the teenagers Carnival sweatshirts and you'd think we interrupted a funeral. She was so RUDE and put out that we asked her to look for size mediums that we started to walk out. Then we heard her say "found some". We walked back in only to be treated like dirt, she was taking deep breathes, making loud sighs while ringing us up. It was ridiculous! The waiters forgot about us a couple nights in a row, we sat for half an hour waiting for our final course; they were closing the rest of the dinning room. The second night we sat with no staff approaching us until I walked over to the wait staff stand and interrupted their conversation asking for water and bread. Then when the waiter came over, he acted annoyed and rushed us through our selections. Drinks came halfway through dinner and coffee came after dessert was over.

Common areas were filthy, empty drink glasses and plates of food everywhere. Bathrooms were always dirty and the pools/hot tubs were disgusting. Tons of hair, napkins, even food floating. The ship has a center point with dead ends so having to up and down several floors to find dinning rooms, theaters, bars and restaurants was challenging. Elevators are very small and almost never came in a timely manner especially during peak times. If you're trying to get to a show or dinner avoid the elevators, you will be late and you will miss getting a seat.

Cabin / Stateroom

The cabin was perfect and exactly what we expected. Our steward (I Putu) was excellent; had our room spotless every day and having a teenager in our room kept him busy. He was happy, friendly, kind, and an overall wonderful person.
