Review summary

Booked for the itinerary which was great. The onboard experience was a little meh, seemed like most of the crew were disgruntled.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Luckily we got here early ahead of some traffic due to accidents. They let us on early, there were no lines anywhere I'm guessing because of slow arrivals due to the traffic. I don't even know where you would wait at this terminal, it's very small and tight.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
I love Carnivals casual options, they were great as usual. However the MDR was disappointing on this last trip. Quality has gone down both in food and service. Our service team was so slow, longest dinners I've had in a decade. The entrees have also just become so so, I don't love Emerill's changes. 1 dish the whole week was amazing, the rest were meh.

Liquid Lounge

I hate this theater setup so much. It doesn't have great views unless you're one of the first 30 people seated. There are obstructed views all over the place or weird angles for the seats. Especially when multiple shows have set pieces out in the seating area.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Our room steward was good, he got the job done but we hardly ever saw him. Wait staff was very lackluster. Very slow service on the MDR and nothing special anywhere on lido either. I don't know if most of the crew was close to the end of contracts but it seemed like much less friendliness and excitement than is usual for Carnival. Captain was basically unintelligible over the intercom. The only saving grace was Joey, easily the best cruise director I've ever had.

Cabin / Stateroom

1 out of 5
Our headboard bordered an elevator and that was just terrible. There were metal clanging sounds almost 24/7 and it really made it hard for me to relax or sleep in the room. I will never get a room adjacent to elevators again.

Ship tip

Explore the whole ship, there is lots to do. No need to pay for extra dining options, the free ones have plenty of variety.

This was a mess. There was no priority line for status members nor were self carry guests let off first.
