We LOVED Horizon and will definitely be sailing with Carnival again soon!! Cozumel was our favorite port (Playa Mia was awesome!). We just went to Bay Beach at Ocho Rios, which was nice and close to the ship, but we got heckled the whole way there by locals to buy things. We loved all of the food on the ship and everything was very clean on-board. There was a great variety of activities for all ages!! The ship was full (it seemed), but nothing was ever too crazy/crowded. I liked the elevator system (very different!) and the easy access to stairs. The cruise director, trivia crew, housekeeping staff, and dining room staff were all absolutely fantastic! Highly recommend this ship!!!!!!!

The variety of food/restaurants were fantastic!! I did research beforehand to know which special restaurants were free during lunch so we never paid extra for meals, but absolutely LOVED all of the food. Breakfast on the Lido deck was very repetitive, but there were enough options, so that was fine. We did 'your time' dining and it was fabulous! We loved all of the food throughout the week!!! The pasta bar and Mongolian restaurants were fantastic; we also loved the pizza place and both of Guy's restaurants!!
Onboard Activities

Loved the trivia each day, as well as the Ropes Course, miniature golf, fitness center, Dive-in movies, Dr. Seuss' waterworks, piano bar, bingo, afternoon tea (sea days), indoor rec activities (foosball, foot billiards, etc.) and the arcade!!

We went to one of the big shows and it was fantastic!! I think it was 'Vintage Pop' and it was excellent!! We also LOVED the piano bar - our fave!!! The DJ's on the Lido deck were also great.

These areas looked fantastic, but we didn't utilize them for our son.

Our room steward was absolutely FANTASTIC!!!!! He did a phenomenal job and honestly felt like family. He was so kind/friendly, especially with our son. The dining room staff was also AMAZING!! We had your time dining, but requested the same table each night to be with our favorite staff. They were so fantastic and also felt like family when we left!!! We're going to miss all of these special people! They did a great job and went above and beyond. All of the housekeeping staff was overly friendly, as well as the dining staff. The staff in the gift shop, spa, and other general areas were adequate, but not overly friendly like the others.
Ship Quality

Loved the ship's layout and design. The ship was always being cleaned (railings, walkways, dining areas, etc.) and maintained (painting, fixing things, etc.). I have no complaints!
Cabin / Stateroom

The cabin was fantastic! Loved all of the storage areas and balcony. Beds were very comfortable and our steward always had it super clean / refreshed w/towels daily. The only complaint is that I wish the A/C could have been lowered/colder at night. It was fine during the day, but the covers/bedding was very thick, so we got hot every night. The thermostat only does 'warmer to colder' so I don't know what actual temperature the 'coldest' setting was... It needed to be lower at night, but wasn't possible.
Ship tip
Do a little research before you leave - about the 'free food' options (certain days/times) - and it will pay off! The elevator system is different, but fantastic. Constantly check the Carnival app for daily activities b/c it can change. There are always so many things to choose from!
We had 'faster to the fun' so we were able do disembark with the first group - totally worth it! It still took a bit longer than I would have liked, but there are limitations. They only had two people scanning sail & sign cards (to get off the ship); would have been nice to have a few more helping.
