Overall it was a happy surprise. There was some strong wind that closed some of the outdoor venues for 2 days. And rough seas that caused some seasickness for another 2 days. But even then - we had a wonderful time with our family - to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and we are happy to have chosen this way to celebrate a special occasion.

Service and Staff

Waiters were just so thoughtful and gave wonderful service.
A special commendation to Calvery - our room steward. He was courteous, thoughtful and went above and beyond to supply festive decorations to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. We appreciated him so much.
The wait staff that gave exceptional service were the team of I Kadek, Richard and Tomi. I Kadek even memorized all our names (a family of 10) and called us by name at breakfast at the next meal - in a different dining room. Amazing. And sweet!
Another team that gave exceptional service were Alan, I Nyoman, and Gede.
Alexander, Sharon and Charlyn gave very good service as well.
All ten of us appreciated the team of Achref, Putu and Agustiyan.
Carnival Horizon has a terrific staff.
Ship Quality

The ship was kept very clean by your excellent staff. One help to find one’s way in such a large ship would be to supply signs that point fore and aft on all the walls where it applies. Example: The cabin signage would point to even and odd numbered cabins — which was helpful of course - but when we needed to use those signs to find our way to the front or back of the ship we needed more assistance for that. Fore and Aft indicators would be helpful.

It was nice to be able to unpack our clothing and items in the drawers and closets provided and we found that there was plenty of room for the 2 of use to store everything we needed. We liked the climate control feature also. The shelves in the bathroom were so helpful. Good design. Calvert and team did a terrific job keeping things clean.
Ship tip
Be sure to download the Carnival app and learn your way around the ship as soon as you can.
